Position: Wide Receiver | Quarterback | Halfback | Safety
Veteran | 10 years

Here’s a little bit about Rocky and her journey with the Valkyries, in her own words:

What made her join the Valkyries:
“I joined because I needed confidence. Every year since, I’ve come back for different reasons, needing a mental break, support, motivation, and inspiration. Those are all things the Valkyries have to offer.”

What being a Valkyrie means to her:
“Growth. Every year you have the opportunity to learn something new.”

Season Goal:
“To keep the Valkyries classy.”

Hype Song:
F**k Sally 😆

Growth:
“In every way. Physically, I still want to grow up to be as strong as Maricela. I want to be as good of a mom as some of my teammates. I want to be as smart as they are. I’ve grown in all aspects, and I’m humble enough to know I still have so much to learn from my Valkyries.”

What keeps her coming back:
“I love the physical challenge, but most importantly, I love the opportunity to be a part of these women’s lives, learn from them, be impressed by them, and be challenged by them. That’s an opportunity most women don’t get, and we’re lucky to have it.”

Advice to rookies:
“Be a sponge. If you want to be strong, learn from Maricela and Natalia. If you want to learn something new, learn from everyone. Nurses, homemakers, construction workers, cleaning crews, we’ve got it all. If you need help, let us help. If you want friends, the Valkyries are here. We got you. Just be a sponge. 🧽”

Rocky’s honesty, humor, and appreciation for the women around her are what make her such a special part of this team. She reminds us that football is about more than the game, it’s about the people beside you.

Here’s a little bit about Jesse and her journey with the Valkyries, in her own words:

What made her join the Valkyries:
“I met a lot of girls on the PNW team and they told me about the Valkyries. I love the cause and all the ladies, so joining was a no-brainer for me.”

What being a Valkyrie means to her:
“Being a Valkyrie means showing up for something bigger than myself. It’s about strength, purpose, and passion to create opportunities for kids who deserve the chance to play, grow, and believe in themselves.”

Season Goal:
“To turn mistakes into immediate adjustments, not frustration.”

Fun Fact:
“I also play for Tacoma Grit, which is a first-year semi-pro team in the AWFL.”

What surprised her most about the team:
“What a solid program this is. The organization and plans they have in place are incredible.”

What she was most nervous about coming in:
“Meeting so many new people. Teammates can really make or break the experience for someone, but we really have the best group of girls.”

What she’s most excited to learn this season:
“Everything. As a rookie, I’m just trying to be a sponge and take everything in. Everyone is teaching me.”

Jesse’s passion for the game, willingness to learn, and team-first mindset already make her such a strong addition to this program.

Veteran | 5th Season

Here’s a little bit about Alisha and her journey with the Valkyries, in her own words:

What made her join the Valkyries:
“I was dealing with a lot in my life and finally decided to do something for myself. I was a mom of 8 kids at home when I started, with my youngest being just under 2 years old.”

What being a Valkyrie means to her:
“It’s more than football, it’s family, relationships, connections, and sisterhood.”

Season Goal:
“To stay healthy enough to complete the whole season 🙌”

Growth:
“Since my first year, my football IQ has grown incredibly, along with my confidence in what I’m capable of.”

What keeps her coming back:
“The relationships and connections.”

Hype Song:
“Any ass-shaking song 😆”

Fun Fact:
“Football is life. I coach youth and semi-pro football in addition to playing.”

Advice to rookies:
“Showing up is the hardest part. Everything after that is easy. We’ve all been in your position, new, uncertain, and overwhelmed, but it gets easier. You have all of us to lean on, and we are here for you 💜💛”

Alisha’s strength, resilience, and heart for both football and family make her such an important part of this team.
