Hungry Hearts Foundation Hungry Hearts Foundation is a non-profit program that provides supplemental weekend food to hungry children.

Hungry Hearts Foundation (HHF/HH), formerly known as Li’l Hungry Hearts (LHH), began in 2010 under the umbrella of the Lake Stevens Family Center to address the growing issue of weekend hunger among local school-aged children. In 2015, HH became an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization—and in 2025, we proudly merged with the Lake Stevens Community Food Bank to serve families more efficiently, expand access, and strengthen our impact in the fight against childhood hunger. Our mission is simple: “No Child Left Hungry” by “Taking a Bite Out of Childhood Hunger!”
Many students rely on the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) for meals during the school week, but face food insecurity at home every weekend. We provide Kid Packs—discreetly packaged, kid-friendly, supplemental food—that are sent home with students each Friday. In partnership with the Lake Stevens School District, our 100% volunteer-run program is powered by local PTAs, community members, and generous donations from individuals, businesses, churches, and organizations. Together with the Lake Stevens Community Food Bank, we’re building a more coordinated, compassionate support system to ensure reliable access to food for the children who need it most.

💙 HEARTS IN ACTION! 💙

What an amazing five weeks! A very special thank you to Todd Lewis and Grocery Outlet Lake Stevens for their continued generosity and support of the Hungry Hearts Program. Their contributions helped us provide an incredible 116 Kid Packs of supplemental weekend food to local kids in need over the past five weeks during the Free Summer Lunch Program at Stevens Creek Elementary / Early Learning Center (ELC). 🥪❤️

📚 Thank you also to Half Price Books for their continued support and for providing books that encourage kids to keep reading all summer long!

And a huge THANK YOU to Jenna for coordinating our wonderful Hungry Hearts volunteers, and to all of our volunteers who generously gave their time to help with Summer Lunch! We couldn't do this without you! ❤️

This is another wonderful example of Hearts in Action — Acts of Kindness That Feed Our Community. When local businesses, volunteers, and community members come together, we can make a real difference for children and families right here in Lake Stevens.

It truly takes a community, and we are so grateful for everyone who helped make this summer program a success! 💙
