Hungry Hearts Foundation (HHF/HH), formerly known as Li’l Hungry Hearts (LHH), began in 2010 under the umbrella of the Lake Stevens Family Center to address the growing issue of weekend hunger among local school-aged children. In 2015, HH became an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization—and in 2025, we proudly merged with the Lake Stevens Community Food Bank to serve families more efficient
ly, expand access, and strengthen our impact in the fight against childhood hunger. Our mission is simple: “No Child Left Hungry” by “Taking a Bite Out of Childhood Hunger!”
Many students rely on the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) for meals during the school week, but face food insecurity at home every weekend. We provide Kid Packs—discreetly packaged, kid-friendly, supplemental food—that are sent home with students each Friday. In partnership with the Lake Stevens School District, our 100% volunteer-run program is powered by local PTAs, community members, and generous donations from individuals, businesses, churches, and organizations. Together with the Lake Stevens Community Food Bank, we’re building a more coordinated, compassionate support system to ensure reliable access to food for the children who need it most.
