Día de la Amistad — Friendship Day — is celebrated in many Latin American countries as a day to recognize and appreciate friends.

In schools, it’s usually marked by simple activities: students exchange small cards or notes, share snacks, play games, and spend time together. It’s less about big gifts and more about acknowledging the relationships that shape everyday life.

Last week, our students joined in the celebration with handwritten notes, time outside together, and a lot of laughter.

Feliz Día de la Amistad. 💛

2026 School year is off and running! Please pray for the directors, teachers and students. Its a blessing to minister to the children and their families. The school setting is where HI excells, a years long process consistently forming young people into resiliant disciples of Jesus.

There’s still time, if you’ve been considering a year-end gift.

Supporting HI Nicaragua means standing with communities as they work toward long-term stability through education, local leadership, and sustainable opportunity.

Each contribution plays a meaningful role in that work.

If giving is part of how you close out the year, we’d be grateful to have you alongside us! Have a blessed New Year!

Happy Thanksgiving from HI Nicaragua!

We are so grateful for the people who make this work possible — the families in Nicaragua who welcome us into their lives, the community leaders who inspire us every day, and the friends and supporters here at home who believe in the power of walking alongside one another.

Thank you for being part of our work.
Your prayers, encouragement, generosity, and partnership are making an impact every day.

Happy Thanksgiving, from our HI Nicaragua family to yours. 🌾

The kingdom moves forward because of quiet hands doing faithful work. Before Jesus turned water into wine, someone had to fill the jars.

Our behind-the-scenes team prepares the way for God to move, building insulation and equipment for the school is not always a glamorous task; but it matters.

Building insulation and fabrication on sight helps us minimalize the expense of our work.

The heartbeat of our school. It takes a team to build a school--and these people are faithfully building God's kingdom one lesson at a time.

We're beyond grateful for our teachers. Showing up and loving like Jesus daily.

Nicaragua is not just one story.
It’s the warmth of Chinandega, the history of Granada, the forests and Masaya’s volcano views.
Our students shared what makes each place unique — the foods, dances, landscapes, and memories that shape their families and futures. 💙
