Southern University AgCenter's Extension Outreach Agent Theresa Sammons Bonner hosted a one-day NourishED K.I.D.S. cooking camp at the Lake Providence AgCenter Office on May 28th. The youth had a lesson on MyPlate discussing the five food groups, colored rocks with a design of the MyPlate picture on them, prepared their own ham and cheese quesadillas, prepared pudding for Oreo Dirt Cups, made homemade Strawberry Jam, and even went outside for some fun physical activity.

***Reminder*** Today's the day -- bring your dial gauge pressure canner to have it tested. 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. OR 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Free testing of Dial Gauge Pressure Canners May 18th from 10 am to 12 pm OR from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm at the East Carroll Parish Extension Office, 502 1st Street, Lake Providence, LA 71254.

Cathy Agan, Nutrition and Community Health Agent with the LSU AgCenter, will test your dial gauge pressure canner. Bring the lid to your pressure canner with the gauge (dial gauges only).
