We hope you had as much fun as we did at this year’s NAMIWalk! Thank you to everyone who walked with us or donated. With your help, we raised $1,200 to support mental health in our community! 💚

Haven’t had a chance to donate yet? Don’t worry! Donations are open through November, so there’s still time to support the cause.

This month, we’re returning to Coastal Karma Brewing for another night of brews and brainy fun!

Join us Thursday, October 15 at 6 p.m. as graduate student Nancy Vela Navarro takes us through the past, present, and future of Alzheimer’s research.

It’s a great opportunity to have some brainy conversations, connect with other curious minds, and learn more about brain health in a casual and fun setting. No scientific background required!

Team NeuroSquad is returning to this year’s NAMIWalk to support mental health resources in Palm Beach County and help fight the stigma surrounding mental illness, and we’d love for YOU to join us!

Donations are appreciated, but they’re not required, and the walk is completely free. Breakfast and refreshments will be provided, and all team members will receive a free team shirt!

When: Saturday, October 10 at 8 a.m.
Where: John Prince Park, Lake Worth

Come walk with us!

While su***de remains a major concern, there are encouraging signs that prevention efforts can make a difference. Community programs, increased awareness, and greater access to mental health resources can all play an important role in su***de prevention.

You matter, and your actions make a difference. If you or someone you know is struggling with their mental health, call or text 988 any time, day or night.

We were honored for MobileMinds to be recognized last night with the Innovation Award at Palm Beach Illustrated Education Awards reception!

The mission of MobileMinds is to give every child the chance to discover that a scientist is something they could actually become. We have already introduced more than 27,000 students to the wonders of human brain -- and we are just getting started 🧠🔬

Thank you to Palm Beach Illustrated's readers for voting! And many thanks to Palm Beach Illustrated for helping us share our story with our Palm Beach County community💙

Congratulations to Dr. Nicole Baganz, Director of Community Engagement, for her nomination for a Woman of the Year Award by the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce!

Dr. Baganz leads our ASCEND initiative - a comprehensive suite of programs for learners of all ages that are designed to spark curiosity and break down barriers between neuroscience research and public understanding. ASCEND programs and events have reached over 60,000 people across South Florida, including thousands of children attending Title I schools. ASCEND's MobileMinds program, was recently honored with the Innovation Award at Palm Beach Illustrated's annual Education Awards.

Dr. Baganz is also a strong proponent of eliminating the stigma associated with mental health disorders, sharing a personal and scientific perspective on mental illness through the lens of neuroscience. She currently serves on the board of directors for NAMI Palm Beach County and leads Florida Atlantic's NAMIWalks team each year to raise funds for mental health support programs in Palm Beach County.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Baganz for this well-deserved recognition!

People in crisis are more likely to seek help when they feel respected and valued. Small acts of connection, like checking in on a friend, can make a big difference.

Talking about mental health can feel difficult, and you may worry about saying the wrong thing or making things worse. The good news is that you don’t have to figure it out on your own. Resources like AFSP’s Talk Away the Dark can help you get started.

Did you ever imagine that you or your child would have the opportunity to work with real brain tissue?

That’s exactly the kind of hands-on experience we love sharing with our students! 🧠🔬

Our community programs give students the chance to explore neuroscience in ways that go beyond the classroom, including experiences like working with real brain tissue slices.

This Giving Day, you can help us keep these experiences free and accessible to students in our community by donating to the SNBI Community Programs Fund.

💙 Every contribution helps us continue creating meaningful opportunities for the next generation of scientists, thinkers, and brain enthusiasts.
