COURTESY POST FOR NEWBERG ANIMAL SHELTER!!!

German Shepherd Dog, male, 1 year 8 months. 89.6 lbs

Adoption Fee: $350

PLEASE MEET WHISKEY! 🤎

Whiskey is a kind-natured adult male German Shepherd with soulful eyes and the gentlest heart. He came from a heartbreaking situation, but despite everything he’s been through, Whiskey has chosen kindness. All he really wants now are a few tasty treats, some loving pets, and a yard to run off his energy in.

This cuddle tank is a gentle giant with an easygoing nature that makes him a wonderful companion. Indoors, Whiskey is calm and affectionate, happiest when he can lean against his people or stay close by, quietly soaking up love. On walks, however, Whiskey’s size and strength really shine — he is a big, powerful boy who can pull on leash and will need an adopter committed to continuing his leash training and helping him build good walking manners.

While he’s a pretty chill guy, he’s still a German Shepherd, and this handsome boy will need a solid amount of daily exercise, structure, and guidance to truly thrive.

Whiskey deserves a home where he’ll never be overlooked again — a place where patience, compassion, and consistency will help him continue to heal. In return, he offers unwavering loyalty and the kind of love that comes from a dog who truly appreciates a second chance.

If you’re looking for a sweet, devoted companion with a heart of gold (and don’t mind a little extra muscle on your walks), Whiskey is ready to meet you! 🐾

If you’d like to meet Whiskey, please schedule an appointment by going to our website: www.newberganimals.com

You can view Whiskey's profile there, fill out the application, and email it to: [email protected]. (Please keep in mind that we do require you to bring your other dog(s) to the shelter for a meet & greet with Whiskey during your appointment.)

The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm .....NOTE: Adoptions end one hour prior to close.

Whiskey's adoption fee ($350) includes spay/neuter, ID microchip, and current vaccinations. He has been wormed, flea treated, socialized and given lots of love.

COURTESY POST FOR NEWBERG ANIMAL SHELTER!!

German Shepherd, Female, 2 years old, 66.7 lbs
Adoption Fee: $300

Hi… I’m Phoebe! 🐾

I might not be the first one to run up and say hello—but please don’t mistake my quiet nature for a lack of love. I’m a beautiful German Shepherd girl with a gentle heart; I just like to take a little time to feel safe. New people and new places can make me shy at first, so I may watch you from a distance, learning who you are and whether I can trust you.

But if you give me patience… oh, I promise it’s worth it.

Once I know you’re kind, my walls come down. The shy girl fades, and something wonderful takes her place. I become curious, brave, and adventurous—ready to explore the world by your side. Walks turn into mini adventures, and every new smell feels like a story waiting to be told.

And when the exploring or games of fetch are done, I’ll follow you from room to room, rest my head against your leg, and before you know it, I’ll be curled up beside you, snuggled as close as I can get. I have a special talent for cuddling—deep, soulful, “this is my person” kind of cuddling. When I love, I love with my whole heart.

I’m loyal, sensitive, and quietly devoted. I don’t need a loud or rushed life—just someone who understands that trust is something we build together. If you’re looking for a best friend who will blossom with your love and share both cozy nights and gentle adventures, I might be your girl.

I may start shy…
but once I choose you, I’m yours forever. 💕

If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours).

COURTESY POST for Clackamas County Dog Shelter

PLEASE MEET ROXY!

A BEAUTIFUL GERMAN SHEPHERD CROSS
S*x: Female, Apprx. 3 Years old

Description: At 63lbs and about 3 years of age, Roxy is the perfect size for adventure. As a German Shepherd mix, she knows she is gorgeous. Roxy is a sweet lady who is working on walking easier on leash, and would love to continue her positive reinforcement training in her new home. Roxy may do best in a home that has experience with German Shepherds or other large, powerful breeds, as she can have moments of excitement where she will need guidance from her new owner. She looks forward to enjoying time with her new family - is that you?

1) Roxy would likely do best in a home with large dog experience that will give her plenty of positive reinforcement, exercise through walks, and enjoy time with her new family!

2) We do not know how Roxy would act towards cats or small animals, so please be sure to discuss proper introductions with your adoption counselor if you have small animals living in the house.

3) Roxy will do best with kids 13 and up due to her size and energy level.

4) Roxy may do great with dog similar in size who are appreciative her energy. If you have another dog in your home we will need to set up a meet and greet.

5) Roxy likes to be active so a secured fenced yard would work best for her to get proper exercise.
