A partnership between Base Design + Architecture and MODS PDX, HONE is helping shape what’s possible at the intersection of housing, workforce development, and innovative building practices.

Their team is also leading instruction for HBF’s Building To Scale, helping prepare the next generation of residential construction professionals through hands-on training.

Meet Brian Boggs, HBF Board President and CEO of Pacific Crest Custom Cabinetry.

Brian is passionate about HBF’s shelter work, workforce development, and the opportunity to create more access to jobs, materials, and housing solutions across Oregon. He has also helped spearhead Roll Call, HBF’s new platform connecting educators and other nonprofits with excess materials from building suppliers.

HBF Board Members are no strangers to a work site. 🛠 Mark Beirwagen of Stone Creek Building & Development Inc, fellow Board Member Dave Nielsen CEO of Home Building Association of Greater Portland, along with Travis Olson of Eureka Mortgage Planning, and The Den Men’s Group volunteers got to work Saturday.

The awning renovation at Clackamas Service Center is almost done. This project will help create a safer, more welcoming space for neighbors accessing food, care, and essential services.

HBF’s Building To Scale is partnering with MODS PDX and Base Design & Architecture on a paid Architecture Internship focused on modular housing and “The Missing Middle.” This is a great opportunity to be part of something meaningful, learn from experienced professionals, and build your network while gaining real-world design experience.

Program dates: June 22–August 14
Stipend: $6,000

HBF’s Building To Scale is teaming up with MODS PDX and Base Design & Architecture on a paid 8-week Architecture Internship focused on modular housing, practical building solutions, and “The Missing Middle.”

You’ll get real-world experience on a live development project, work in a collaborative studio environment, and learn alongside architects, builders, and industry pros.

Program dates: June 22–August 14
Stipend: $6,000
Time commitment: 24–32 hours/week
