Our hearts are full. Thank you, Michelle, for choosing ReFIT and for your kind words. We’re so grateful for the support of the Budget Blinds Central Portland team, and for Wendy’s connection to ReFIT over the years. This gift will help us continue providing ramps, grab bars, railings, bathroom modifications, and other accessibility improvements that truly change lives. We’re incredibly grateful to the Malarkey Family Foundation for a truly transformational gift: funding ReFIT’s very first dedicated work vehicle!

The Malarkey Family Foundation is deeply committed to empowering communities through educational initiatives, partnerships with local organizations, and strategic investments that create lasting impact. We are honored to be part of that vision.

This investment will change how we serve our community every single day. It means delivering ramps, tools, and materials more efficiently. It means reducing reliance on personal and volunteer vehicles. And it means expanding ReFIT’s reach and visibility across the tri-county area.

Because of this generosity, we can literally drive our mission forward—reaching more homes, responding faster, and helping more neighbors live safely and independently.

And a huge thank you to iWrap for bringing the vision to life with an incredible custom wrap!

As a local, family-owned business serving the Portland Metro area, iWrap combines artistry, craftsmanship, and over 15 years of industry expertise. Owners Mateo and Anel poured their passion for design into every detail, and the final result is something we’re proud to drive throughout our community.

Thank you to everyone helping move this mission forward.💚 🔨 🚐

We can’t schedule when someone falls. But you can help make sure we’re ready.

A fall. A hospital stay. A home that suddenly isn’t safe.

Maybe it’s your parent. Your neighbor. Someone you care about.

They don’t need everything—just a ramp, a grab bar, a way to stay at home safely. And they don’t need it later. They need it now.

At ReFIT, we get that call more often than you might think. And when it comes, we want to say yes—right away.

Without steady support, the work can slow down—projects pause, timelines stretch, and people wait longer than they should. And when someone can’t safely get in or out of their home, waiting matters.

That’s why the ReFIT recurring donor team, The ReFITTers, are so important.

Recurring donors are what allow us to stay ready—to schedule work without delay, to respond quickly, and to help without first checking what’s in the account.

It's not about giving more. It’s about giving in a way that keeps the work moving.

At ReFIT, we’re known for building ramps—but that’s just part of what we do. We’re also passionate about creating safer, more accessible spaces inside the home.

For many individuals with mobility limitations, stepping over a bathtub wall isn’t just difficult—it can be dangerous. That’s why we transform traditional bathtubs into walk-in and roll-in ready showers, helping make everyday routines safer and more manageable.

We recently had the honor of helping Laura with this exact need. Living with the effects of a traumatic brain injury since the age of 2, Laura experiences instability and challenges with balance. Our team converted her bathtub into a walk-in shower and installed grab bars for added support and stability.

This project was made possible with the help of our incredible partners, Square Deal Remodeling Co. and Bestbath We’re so grateful for their support in helping us bring safer, more accessible solutions to our community.

Now, Laura can safely and confidently shower in the comfort of her own home—restoring both independence and dignity.

If you or someone you know could benefit from a safer, more accessible home, we’d love to help. 💚 🔨

Do you—or someone you love—live with severe arthritis and struggle navigating steps at home? That was the reality for Lorraine.

Because of the partnership with Portland YouthBuilders and the generosity of YOUR donations, ReFIT was able to build Lorraine a safe, sturdy ramp right at her front door.

This ramp does more than provide easier access. It helps reduce the risk of falls, creates a safer living environment, and restores something incredibly important—confidence and independence. 🏠

This is the impact you make possible. Every dollar given, every hour volunteered, and every partnership formed helps neighbors like Lorraine continue living safely in the homes they love.

If you or someone you know could benefit from a home modification like this, or if you’d like to support projects like Lorraine’s, we’d love to connect with you!

Meet Rick! 👋

Rick is another neighbor and client ReFIT has been honored to support — and this project wouldn’t have been possible without you. Because of generous donations of time, resources, and financial support, Rick now has a brand new, sturdy, and safe ramp that helps him move in and out of his home with greater ease and confidence.

A huge thank-you to Square Deal Remodeling Co. and Construction Consulting and Services for partnering with us to bring this project to life. When our community comes together, real change happens — and neighbors like Rick get to stay safe at home.

We’re grateful for every volunteer, donor, and partner who makes this work possible. 💚

Meet Jamie

When Jamie, a 50-year-old mother of two teens, was diagnosed with ALS, everything changed — fast. As her mobility declined, steep concrete steps and a large threshold made leaving home dangerous and frightening

ReFIT moved quickly into action, partnering with Portland YouthBuilders to build a safe, accessible ramp. Now, Jamie’s husband, as well as her children, can help her up and down without fear. Together, the family can take short neighborhood trips — for pizza, ice cream, or simply fresh air — moments that matter more than ever.

ALS is relentless. But this ramp gave Jamie something deeply meaningful: the ability to stay in her home longer, surrounded by the people who love her, instead of being forced into a care facility sooner than necessary. It has given this family more time. More dignity. More togetherness. And sometimes, that is everything. 💚
