Welcome Jennah Litecky Yost to Art in the Park!

Facebook: FireSmith Copper

FireSmith Copper is comprised of a husband-and-wife team of artists: Jennah Litecky Yost and Paul Yost. Their partnership has brought them to the peaceful, rugged beauty of the Oregon mountains. Paul’s workmanship and Jennah's lifelong commitment to art have blossomed in their copper creations. Together, with the help of family, they began FireSmith Copper in 2013.

After a childhood immersed in the arts, Jennah graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in studio arts and a minor in art history. Jennah has a natural talent for design and an eye for color. She coaxes breathtaking images from copper while maintaining the material's organic beauty.

Paul is a carpenter who historically restores Oregon's cherished timber frame covered bridges when he’s not creating copperwork. With his carpentry experience, Paul finishes all FireSmith Copper pieces by shaping the artwork to custom-built frames. Paul has a pragmatic approach to his designs, gently inviting elegant images out of the copper.

Both Paul and Jennah contribute to the creative process from start to finish. All their pieces are handcrafted, each with their own ideas, and each with their own styles merging into an expression they are proud of.

"Orphan Girl Fine Art draws from a deep connection to the natural world. Working as a wildlife rehabber in Southern Oregon, I paint gouache portraits of the birds and animals I encounter—each piece rendered on pH-treated, upcycled tea bags.

The warm tones and organic texture of the tea bags serve as a natural complement to fur and feather, allowing each subject to emerge as an individual rather than a species. A portion of every sale supports wildlife rehabilitation."

The Joan Eliot Sappington Gallery holds something truly electric. This year, we received the largest pool of applicants in our history, and after a rigorous selection process by a prestigious panel of jurors from New York to Singapore, just ten students were chosen!

For many of these incredibly talented young creators, this exhibition marks their official debut as professional artists. After completing a professional workshop to bridge the gap between student creator and career artist, they are ready to share their vision with the world.

👁️ WHY COLLECT NOW?

There is a unique thrill in being the first to recognize a rising star! These artists are at a pivotal moment, transitioning from "creating for fun" to "creating for impact.” By purchasing a piece from this exhibition, you aren't just buying art—you are directly investing in the foundation of a lifelong creative career. These are the names you will see in major galleries in the years to come.🌟
