Orion Area Youth Assistance is a 501c3 dedicated to strengthening youth and families and reducing incidents of juvenile neglect, abuse, and delinquency through community involvement. OAYA is sponsored by Orion Township, the Village of Lake Orion, Lake Orion Community Schools, and Oakland County Circuit Court - Family Division and is overseen by a board of directors comprised of community volunteers.

We are happy to announce a new program at Orion Area Youth Assistance. 2nd Chance Instruments. An instrument loan program created to remove finanical barriers to music education programs by providing musical instruments to Lake Orion students in need. If you have an instrument to donate, you can drop it off at Orion Area Youth Assistance, any Lake Orion School or The Orion Township Public Library. If you are in need of an instrument for Lake Orion Band participation, please contact our office at 248-693-6878.

As our 2026 SPLAT Camps draw to a close, we would like to give a HUGE thanks to those who gave us grants and donations for the program which enabled us to run SPLAT at two sites. Without your grants and donations we, quite simply, could facilitate these camps.

There are proven results from SPLAT. Students show reduced summer learning loss, academic growth, stronger social-emotional skills, improved problem-solving abilities, and fewer behavior-related challenges during the school year. None of this would be possible without you.

Thank You, Thank You to Wayne Haney, Haney Farm Bureau, Farm Bureau Insurance Michigan, and Agent Charitable Fund - Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan for the check which was presented to OAYA by Wayne at our Board meeting last night!

The money will be used solely towards providing breakfasts, snacks, and lunches to our 2026 SPLAT campers, many of whom face food insecurity.
