Lake Nebagamon Fire Department New Turnout Gear

New turnout gear is starting to arrive at the Lake Nebagamon Fire Department! Having gear that is up to compliance is important, but even more important is making sure it fits properly and allows our firefighters to do their jobs safely and effectively.

Our four newest members are getting more prepared every week. They’ve been working hard, putting in the training, and learning what it takes to be part of the department. They’ve also been busy the last few weeks, answering calls and gaining valuable real world experience.

We’re proud of the work they’re putting in and excited to see them continue to grow as firefighters. Great job! 🚒🔥

🚁 LIFE LINK 3 IS COMING TO LAKE NEBAGAMON! This Thursday 8-13-2026 🚁

The Lake Nebagamon Fire Department will be conducting landing zone training with Life Link 3 at our Tammie Ball Fields and we’re inviting the public to come out and watch!

📍Tammie Ball Field West.
🚁 Landing will take place in center field of the west field.
⏰ Expected arrival: approximately 7:15 PM
⏰ Expected departure: approximately 7:45 PM

Times are weather permitting and subject to change if the Life Link 3 crew is dispatched to a real emergency.

🚒 FIRE DEPARTMENT TRAINING & PARKING

Lake Nebagamon Fire will be training on the landing zone and will be parking apparatus near the west field. Please If at all possible, please park as far away from the West Ball Field as possible. The area marked in red on the map below.

The field and parking lot are very dry, so we will be doing our best to minimize dust during landing and takeoff.

👀 WATCHING THE LANDING

Spectators will initially watch from outside the fence. Once the pilot gives us the all-clear, spectators may be allowed to slowly walk toward the helicopter for a closer look at Life Link 3.

⚠️ HELICOPTER SAFETY

* Keep hats secured or hold them in your hand.
* Secure all loose items.
* Be prepared for dust and flying debris.
* Stay outside the designated area until instructed otherwise.
* Do not approach the helicopter until directed by the pilot or fire department personnel.
Do not walk under the tail of the helicopter and avoid all instruments antennas on the nose or under any other part of the helicopter.
* When the helicopter prepares to leave, everyone will need to move back to the designated viewing area.

This is a great opportunity to see Life Link 3 up close while our firefighters train on establishing and managing a helicopter landing zone.

🚒 Come out and support your local first responders and give the Life Link 3 crew a warm Lake Nebagamon welcome! 🚁

Please remember: Life Link 3 is an emergency medical service. If they are called to a real emergency, the visit will be cut short or canceled.

🔥🍔 PROBIE’S GRILLING SAFETY TIP OF THE WEEK! 🍔🔥

The burgers might be hot… but your grill shouldn’t be out of control! 😳🔥

Before you fire up the grill:

Keep your grill at least 10 feet away from your house, deck railings, and anything that can burn.
Never leave the grill unattended while it’s cooking.
Keep kids and pets a safe distance away.
Keep a spray bottle or garden hose nearby for small flare-ups.
Clean grease and fat buildup regularly that grease fire can happen FAST!
If you’re using propane, check the hose and connections for leaks before lighting.
NEVER use gasoline or other accelerants to get a grill going.

🚨 If you have a grease fire:
DO NOT use water! Turn off the burners if you can safely do so and close the lid. If the fire doesn’t go out quickly, get everyone away and call 911.

🍔 Remember: A good cook knows when to flip the burgers. A smart cook knows when to step away from the grill!

Stay safe, keep the grill under control, and enjoy the rest of summer!

🚒 Before You Dig, Make the Call That Could Save a Life! 🚒

The Lake Nebagamon Fire Department reminds everyone that any digging project big or small starts with contacting Badger State One Call (811).

Whether you’re installing a fence, planting a tree, building a deck, or replacing a mailbox post, underground utilities may be just inches below the surface.

Hitting an underground utility line can cause:
⚠️ Natural gas leaks
⚡ Electrical hazards
💧 Water main breaks
📞 Loss of phone and internet service
🚒 Emergency responses and costly repairs

It’s easy:
Contact Badger State One Call (811) at least 3 business days before you dig.
Utility companies will mark the approximate location of buried lines.
Dig carefully around all marked utilities.

Call before you dig. It’s free, it’s the law in Wisconsin, and it helps protect your family, your neighbors, and the first responders who may be called to an emergency.

Let’s work together to keep Lake Nebagamon safe.

Know What’s Below. Call 811 Before You Dig.
