This year’s fundraising efforts are focused on replacing our aging hydraulic rescue tools with modern battery powered rescue tools. These tools allow firefighters to reach trapped victims faster, work more safely, and operate without generators or hydraulic hoses slowing them down.

Imagine a vehicle crash in a ditch, down an embankment, or in a hard to reach location. Battery powered rescue tools can be carried directly to the scene and put into service immediately, saving precious time when every second counts.

82 years ago today, brave men stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day, changing the course of history and defending the freedoms we enjoy today.

The members of the Lake Nebagamon Volunteer Fire Department proudly remember and honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the Greatest Generation. Their selfless service continues to inspire those who answer the call to serve their communities.

As firefighters, we understand the importance of teamwork, commitment, and putting others before ourselves values that were demonstrated on an extraordinary scale on June 6, 1944.

Today, we pause to remember the heroes who landed on the beaches of Normandy and all who served during World War II.

We will never forget their sacrifice.

It's Back and Ready For Your Support!

We are excited to invite you to the Lake Nebagamon Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Dragin’ Tail 5-Mile Run/Walk, taking place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 8:00 AM, starting at the Lake Nebagamon Village Auditorium.

This long-standing community tradition serves as an important fundraiser for our volunteer fire department. Our members dedicate countless hours and put themselves at risk to respond to emergencies throughout Lake Nebagamon and the surrounding areas. Funds raised support the purchase of essential equipment such as personal protective gear, medical supplies, firefighting tools, and communication devices. Thanks to our most recent fundraiser, we were able to outfit a new one-ton truck fully, significantly improving our response capabilities. This year, our goal is to raise $20,000 to upgrade critical safety gear and purchase battery-powered extrication tools that enhance rescue efforts and firefighter safety.

🔥 Public Notice from the Lake Nebagamon Volunteer Fire Department 🔥

Today beginning at approximately 10:30 AM, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will be conducting a controlled burn in the Highland area off Forest Road.

Residents may see smoke throughout the afternoon and into the evening. This is a planned burn being conducted for land management and wildfire prevention purposes.

Please use caution in the area and avoid calling in smoke reports unless you see an immediate threat to structures or public safety.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Weekend Safety Reminder 🇺🇸

As we kick off the summer season, the Lake Nebagamon Volunteer Fire Department would like to remind everyone to have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend.

Please remember:
🔥 Check current fire danger conditions before burning
🚤 Wear your life jacket while on the water
🍺 Never drink and drive whether on the road or in a boat
🚗 Slow down and watch for increased traffic, pedestrians, and children
🏕️ Make sure campfires are completely extinguished
☀️ Stay hydrated and check on family, friends, and neighbors

Most importantly, take a moment this weekend to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

The Lake Nebagamon Volunteer Fire Department is excited to bring back the Dragin’ Tail 5-Mile Run/Walk on Saturday, July 4th at 8:00 AM at the Lake Nebagamon Village Auditorium.

We’re currently seeking sponsors to help make this comeback year a success! In 2024, with the help of generous sponsors, we raised over $9,000 to outfit our new one-ton response truck.
