The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation extends our warmest congratulations to all area graduates in the Class of 2026. This year, we were honored to partner with four local schools and work alongside our generous donors and dedicated scholarship committees to award an incredible $235,000 in scholarships to local students.

These opportunities are made possible by the donors who established scholarship funds—and by those who continue to contribute to them year after year. Their commitment helps open doors for students pursuing higher education, skilled trades, and career training.

We’re excited to recognize Evan Sukow of Jefferson High School as a recipient of one of our newest scholarships — the Ryan’s Auto Care Scholarship.

This scholarship supports students pursuing automotive maintenance and repair, and is open to all Jefferson County graduating seniors interested in automotive or transportation‑related fields.

The scholarship is funded through the annual Ryan’s Auto Care Car Show each May and is also open to public donations anytime:

The scholarship excitement continues!

We are proud to announce Ben Ugorji as this year’s Tammy Hafenstein (Kuhl) Memorial Scholarship recipient from Waterloo High School.

For the past five years, this meaningful scholarship has been awarded to students at Lake Mills High School, Lakeside Lutheran, and Waterloo High School—a testament to Tammy’s lasting legacy and the generosity of those who honor her memory.

LMACF is grateful to partner with Tammy’s family and these area schools to ensure her impact continues for generations.

What an incredible evening at the Lake Mills High School Scholarship Night!

We were honored to celebrate so many outstanding students and the generosity of the donors who make these opportunities possible.

The Lake Mills Area Community Foundation proudly awarded $229,500 in scholarships last night to deserving LMHS seniors. Across our 29 scholarship funds, 42 scholarships were awarded to 31 different students, supporting a wide range of academic and career paths.

A heartfelt thank‑you to the donors who create and sustain these scholarship funds, entrusting LMACF to steward them for the next generation. Your commitment to our community’s youth is truly inspiring.

We also extend our gratitude to the scholarship committees and LMHS staff who dedicate countless hours to reviewing applications and hosting this meaningful event each year. And to the students—your hard work, determination, and dreams for the future make nights like this so special.

Scholarship season is underway, and last night’s ceremony at Lakeside Lutheran was a wonderful start. At Lakeside Lutheran, two LMACF‑managed scholarships were awarded to distinguished local students.
