Interested in learning more about Line 765? Erin Nickelsburg will give a presentation at our Tues. Nov. 17th Noon meeting. All are welcome to attend and learn more about the proposed transmission line. Meeting location: Lake Mills Station Building, Owen St. and Lake St/County B in the Community Room. 💙 Rotary Speaker Spotlight: Supporting Our Seniors!

At our Lake Mills Rotary Club meeting on Tuesday, October 20th, we welcomed Director ReBecca Schmidt and her colleague Erica from the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Jefferson County!

They shared valuable information about the many programs, services, and resources available to help older adults age 60 and over maintain their independence, stay connected, and enjoy a better quality of life.

Did you know the ADRC offers assistance with:

🍽️ Meal Programs – Helping qualifying seniors access nutritious meals, including home-delivered meals.

🚗 Transportation – Helping individuals get to medical appointments and other essential destinations.

❤️ Caregiver Support – Providing resources and guidance for those caring for loved ones.

🧠 Dementia Care – Offering education, resources, and support for individuals and families navigating memory loss.

📋 Benefits Assistance – Helping individuals understand available benefits and programs.

🏡 Long-Term Care Resources – Providing information and guidance to help individuals make informed decisions about their care and independence.

🙋‍♀️ Volunteers Needed!

The ADRC also welcomes community volunteers! Whether you have a little time or a lot, you can make a meaningful difference by:

Helping in the kitchen with meal preparation and service.

Delivering meals to seniors in our community.

Providing transportation to medical appointments and other essential services.

Sometimes, a warm meal, a friendly face, or a ride to an appointment can make all the difference in someone's day!

👏 A special thank-you to ReBecca and Erica for sharing the important work the ADRC does for Jefferson County residents.

At Rotary, we believe in Service Above Self, and organizations like the ADRC remind us how much we can accomplish when a community comes together to care for one another.

Help for older adults and those with disabilities-Oct. 20th:
Where can you learn about what options are available for older adults interested in aging in place? How do you find out about available programs for individuals with disabilities and ways to access these services? Come hear speakers Erika Holmes and Rebecca Schmidt with ADRC Jefferson County (Aging and Disability Resource Center, Jefferson County) at our Noon Lake Mills Rotary Club meeting. All are welcome to attend and learn more. Location: Lake Mills Station building, corner of Owen St. and Lake St./County B. in the Community Room. Parking and entrance in the rear of the building.
