What a Week in Rotary! 💙💛
From service to mentorship to leadership, this week beautifully captured what it means to be People of Action—and we’d love for YOU to be part of it.
🤝 Leadership, Grants & Community Impact
At Thursday’s meeting, we proudly awarded grants to Christian Tech Ministries, IMPOWER, and the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition—supporting vital work across our community. We also welcomed our newest Rotarian, Puja Aggarwal, into the Rotary family! 🎉
Our program speaker, Chris Patton, Seminole County Director of Communications, delivered an engaging and informative presentation on the County’s innovative SCOUT transit program, highlighting how smart transportation solutions are expanding access and mobility across Seminole County.
🌱 Service in Action: Sustainable Food Education
On Friday, students explored sustainable food gardening at the People's Garden, Feed Hunger Now, learning how growing food locally can nourish both people and communities. Rotarians and Rotaractors then rolled up their sleeves to serve right alongside them.
On Saturday night, members of the Rotary Club of Lake Mary and the Rotary Club of Lake Mary Foundation came together in a powerful show of unity and generosity at the 42nd Annual Seminole State College Foundation Dream Gala. United by a shared commitment to education and community impact, our members contributed in a big way—supporting both the Rotary Endowment and the Seminole State College Foundation. It was an inspiring evening that reflected Rotary’s dedication to investing in students, strengthening our local workforce, and building brighter futures through service above self.
💚 Youth Mentorship & Mental Health Awareness
Monday, we celebrated Rotary’s 121st Birthday during our February Social Networking night at Stonewood Grill. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful management team, talented chefs, and attentive staff for creating such a warm, welcoming, and delicious evening for our members and guests. We’re grateful for your partnership as a valued Taste of Lake Mary restaurant, and we encourage our community to stop in, enjoy a fantastic meal, and experience their outstanding hospitality. Join us each month as we spotlight one of our amazing Taste of Lake Mary restaurant partners as the host of our Social Networking Night!
✨ February 23 is also recognized as World Peace and Understanding Day, marking the founding of Rotary International in 1905 and honoring Rotary’s global mission to promote peace, goodwill, and international understanding.
In that same spirit of peace, earlier in the day our Rotaractors partnered with Seminole State at the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus, working alongside Honey’s Mini Therapy Adventures (with sponsorship from the Rotary Club of Sanford-Breakfast) to open meaningful conversations about mental health and wellness. By introducing their new on-campus and community-based service club for young adults (18–30), they showed how supporting emotional well-being fosters empathy, reduces isolation, and helps build more peaceful, connected communities. These powerful moments of connection remind us that when we care for mental health, we help cultivate understanding—and understanding is where peace begins.
✨ Meaningful service. Youth mentorship. Leadership development. Lifelong friendships.
That’s Rotary—and there’s a place for you here.
👉 Join us and be part of something bigger than yourself.
