The Rotary Club of Lake Mary The Lake Mary Rotary Club meets each Thursday morning at 7:30 am at Heathrow Country Club These ideals are embodied in the Rotary motto: “Service Above Self.”

Rotary International is the world's oldest and largest organization of business and professional leaders, numbering more than 1.3 million members in over 30,000 clubs worldwide, united to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build good will and peace in the world. Rotary clubs implement a variety of service projects that address critical issues

including poverty, hunger, illiteracy, substance abuse, and pollution. Rotary clubs are nonreligious, nongovernmental and open to every race, culture and creed with membership representing a cross-section of local business and professional leaders.

💙💛 What an IMPACTful weekly meeting at the Rotary Club of Lake Mary! 💙💛

This past Thursday was a beautiful reminder that Rotary continues to grow through service, leadership, and connection across generations.

Please join us in giving a warm Rotary welcome to our newest corporate members from SouthState Bank — Monica and John! We are excited to have you join our Rotary family and look forward to the impact we will make together as we continue strengthening our community through service.

We were also incredibly proud to officially recognize and celebrate our newly formed, club-sponsored Community Rotaract Club of Seminole County (ages 18–30) — a shining example of this month’s Rotary International theme of Youth Services and the power of “Fellowship Through Service.”

To help fuel their growth and future opportunities, the Rotary Club of Lake Mary proudly presented the club with $1,500 to support outreach, recruitment, and engagement both in the community and at Seminole State College, where the club is officially recognized as an on-campus student organization while also serving young professionals throughout Seminole County.

We are especially proud that at least three club officers and ten members are Seminole State College students, demonstrating the next generation’s passion for service, leadership, and making a meaningful difference right here in Seminole County.

And what a wonderful full-circle Rotary moment during today’s program as we welcomed our featured speaker, Amy Pennock, Seminole County Supervisor of Elections, whose daughter is a proud Rotaract member! Thank you, Amy, for sharing your insights and reminding us of the importance of civic engagement, leadership, and community involvement.

What an IMPACTful morning at the Rotary Club of Lake Mary! 💙💛

Today’s meeting was a beautiful reminder of what happens when passionate people come together in service. We were thrilled to officially welcome three new members into our Rotary family — Christopher Cruz, Haley Cruz, and Avery Herring!

Please join us in giving them a warm Rotary welcome as we continue growing a club committed to making a difference.

The impact continued as it was truly an honor and privilege for fellow Rotarian Dr. Rajiv Patel to present checks to five remarkable nonprofit organizations during today’s meeting as part of the Cotopaxi Expedition Fundraising Effort.

Those efforts raised more than $60,000, which was distributed among five incredible charities making a meaningful difference in the lives of others:

✨ Rescue Outreach Mission of Central Florida
✨ Love Global Mission
✨ Rotary Club of Lake Mary Charitable Giving Foundation
✨ American Academy of Implant Dentistry Foundation
✨ Children's Hunger Project

And the impact didn’t stop there! Through Dr. Patel’s incredible $7,500 match for each charity, an additional $37,500 was given in support, bringing the total impact to more than $97,500 invested back into our communities and causes that change lives.**

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Rajiv Patel and the Cotopaxi Expedition Fundraising Effort in partnership with the Rotary Club of Lake Mary for continuing to embody Rotary’s spirit of Service Above Self. When passionate people come together with a shared purpose, amazing things happen.

This is what Rotary is all about — creating meaningful impact through our Five Avenues of Service and advancing Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus, including promoting peace, fighting disease, supporting education, protecting the environment, growing local economies, improving maternal and child health, and expanding access to clean water and sanitation. Together, we are working to improve lives both locally and globally.

The Rising Achievers Program is built on one powerful belief: that resilience deserves recognition—and opportunity.

Each year, the Rising Achievers Program by the Rotary Club of Lake Mary proudly awards $18,000 in support of 18 incredible students—recognizing 2 students from each of Seminole County’s 9 public high schools who have overcome adversity and remained committed to their success despite life’s challenges.

This year, we are honored to celebrate these inspiring students at the 26th Rising Achievers Program Dinner Banquet & Student Recognition Ceremony.

💙 Investing in Our Youth. Strengthening Our Community. 💛

The Rotary Club of Lake Mary is proud to support the J. Douglas YMCA Family Center Teen Program with a $3,000 community grant to help close the gap in providing meaningful activities and nutritious snacks for nearly 300 after-school program participants.

Every afternoon, young people across our community rely on safe spaces where they can learn, grow, connect, and simply be kids. Through this partnership, more teens will have access to engaging programs, positive mentorship, and healthy snacks that help fuel both their bodies and minds after the school day ends.

At Rotary, we believe that investing in youth is one of the most powerful ways to create lasting change. Supporting programs that promote education, wellness, leadership, and opportunity aligns directly with our mission of strengthening communities and improving lives.

We are grateful to the YMCA team for the incredible work they do every day to serve local families and create an environment where teens feel supported, encouraged, and empowered to succeed.
