Quick update about our dear sweet OG Charlie. We are back at home recovering. Still alittle out of sorts but ate dinner really well and now he is snoozing. We will fill everyone in about his surgery in the next few days. But for now we all just need to decompress. It was a very long day for all of us.

Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out and showed concern for our boy. Words simply cannot express the immense gratitude we have for Dr Kennedy Kennedy‘s Animal Clinic of Raytown, Missouri.

If you are local to the area, please consider this innovative clinic willing to step outside the box, always listen and find answers not just at for your domestics but also your swine family!!! They show zero prejudice!!

Then of course our dear beautiful friend Emily McLeod for always being there for us, mind, body & spirit especially with her overflowing plate!!!! 🫶

The boys made it through the surgery very well and are back at the sanctuary recovering. As always we are extremely grateful to Dr Koch and his wonderful staff at Koch and Stigge, Veterinarian clinic in Harrisonville, Missouri.

We have had a very busy day today and yet have another appointment first thing in the morning at Kennedy’s Animal Clinic in Raytown Mo for Charlie’s 3rd assessment and most likely second surgery. Please send us all the good thoughts and prayers, we are needing them so much right now.

Not every part of sanctuary care is cute and cuddly. Sometimes it looks like syringes, feeding tubes, medications, wound care supplies, and a whole lot of “hold still for me.” 😂

These supplies may not be glamorous, but they’re an important part of caring for rescued animals: especially when someone is sick, injured, aging, or needs a little extra help.

Tough love. It’s a real thing. It’s a hard thing. However difficult it is to take them to a new place and leave them behind knowing they are scared and uncertain of what lies ahead, to show THIS kind of tough love is critical. We know that they have each other which helps give peace of mind to everyone, but it was still very difficult to leave the boys tonight. We will not miss their balls NOR their hormones but we already miss their little faces and hot pants. These 3 boys have been through so much in just their short 16 weeks of life. But getting their life-changing alterations is the first of many promises we intend to keep. They’re neuters will be the very first step towards their future and finding their new forever home! In just a few short weeks, they will be up for adoption! Get your application in before someone else snatches these adorable babes up!!!

No expectations. No jobs to do. No purpose they have to serve other than simply being here.

Safe. Loved. Home. 🐷🐶🐓

Just want to wrap my arms around these babies all day long and remind them everything is now okay! No more worry about shelter. Where your next meal will come from. Being exploited at a petting zoo just until you get big enough to eat, or being on a dinner plate at just 6 months old. Loosing more family members, running from coyotes & dodging traffic or ending up in the wrong hands AGAIN. You are loved beyond measurement & FTA will make certain that you are always protected, loved and shown compassion all throughout your natural lifespan.

Did you call their bluff? I think they were waiting for me to leave first and realized I was here to stay🫢
Anyways look at these babies enjoying a real meal out of a bowl! They also took their Ivermectin so good! (The floating laced bread in the middle of their soaking pellets) These boys were swimming in mites! SO ITCHY!!! Scaly skin and even some hair loss. Red and irritated. I can’t imagine how much longer they would live like that in the wild before it eventually taking their lives.

Love, compassion and sanctuary means safety, stability & proper care including a well balanced diet and the medical attention they need. Otherwise, you should not have animals in your care.

These boys had to go through hell and high water but now they will never know what it feels like again to be neglected or treated like an object. #
