Kathy has worked with families for more than 25 years as a certified Parents as Teachers Parent Educator and community health worker with Parenting Communities. Her work was honored with the 2022 Parents as Teachers Parent Educator of the Year Award, recognizing her leadership and dedication to strengthening families.

Looking for something active to do with your child this winter? Our Northport Gym Playgroup is the perfect midweek reset! 🌟Join un on Wednesdays from 10-11am at Northport Public School.

We fill the gym with balls, mats, tunnels, and fun equipment to spark imagination and keep little bodies moving. Parents and caregivers can connect while kids explore, play, and make new friends.

No advanced registration needed—just show up and jump in!

We had an incredible turnout at last night’s Holiday Gathering, and it was such a joy to celebrate the season together.

Our Northport Gym Playgroup is the perfect spot for big movement during these chilly December days. We meet on Wednesdays from 10am-11am at Northport Public School.

Join us for a fun, active morning where kids can move their bodies, try new things, and burn off all that winter wiggle energy. Families love this group—it’s a welcoming space to meet new friends and let your child explore safely.

Staff Introduction Friday!
Jodi- Community Health Worker

Jodi Garcia has lived and worked in Leelanau county two separate chapters of her life. In this chapter she hopes to expand her service and dedication to the surrounding community. As a former military spouse, she personally experienced the importance of community support for new families, as well as the social and emotional growth of children.
Since returning to Michigan, she has enjoyed providing dining service at Funistrada. She also advocates and volunteers with the Habitat for Humanity Leelanau/Grand Traverse region, and is a homeowner through the program. She enjoys landscaping her new home, rock hunting, making people laugh and sharing funny cat videos with her teenage son.
