Our Mission:
Environmental & Social Justice Associates bring deep professional experience in law, science, health care, social justice, communications assistance, gender and sexual equity, and community organizing skills to individuals, families, organizations, indigenous, diverse and other communities experiencing environmental and social justice challenges. We strive to achieve sustainable and just solutions, nationally and internationally. We have more than 65 years combined professional scientific investigation, community organizing, health care, policy development, scientific study and legal practice on the ground, in frontline communities, within both public and private sectors. This expertise includes working with federal, state and local government; private law firms; nonprofit organizations; academic and medial institutions; legislatures; and in the courts to achieve environmental, social, sexual and gender justice.
How We Work:
We bring unique professional expertise to bear on complex environmental social justice issues. We directly assist individuals, communities and their advocates, facing threats from heavy industry, mining, oil and gas development, pipelines, factory farms, hydroelectric dams, water pollution/privatization, threats to native lands and sacred sites, coastal development, golf courses, large-scale development, and similar challenges – often involving local, state and federal governmental approvals or incentives. Consistent with our mission, we provide these services at significantly reduced costs to those seeking our expert, effective and equitable assistance.
