If you've ever seen a Painted Turtle camper hugging a handmade turtle, you've seen the work of the Hughes-Elizabeth Lakes Woman's Club

In September, we were honored to welcome these amazing women to The Painted Turtle, along with the rest of the GFWC CFWC Sierra-Cahuenga District (Sierra Cahuenga District Women's Clubs), for their annual district luncheon.

Over the years, the Hughes-Elizabeth Lakes Woman's Club has given countless hours to The Painted Turtle. They've stitched quilts, sewn fleece blankets, made stuffed turtles for our campers, pitched in at our events, and stepped up whenever we've needed them.

Thank you, Hughes-Elizabeth Lakes Women's Club, for your heart, your hands, and your friendship. We're so grateful to have you in our Camp family.

Celebrating 19 Years of Bringing The Painted Turtle camp Magic to Hospitals and Clinics!

What started in 2007 with just four Southern California hospitals has grown to more than 20 hospitals and clinics across California!

In 2026, 238 hospital visits are planned across 23 partner hospitals, including two brand-new sites in Southern California.

For 19 years, Outpost has brought the joy, friendship, adventure, and spirit of Camp to children where they need it most.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing hospital partners, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who has helped make this mission possible. Here’s to 19 years of smiles, memories, and Camp Joy!

We did it! Together, we met our $25,000 Camp Giving Week match!



Treasured camp icons and longtime volunteers Pops & Sherry and Pun & Moose generously matched every gift dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we unlocked the full match, raising over $65,000. This support will help fund over half of a Fall Family Weekend, bringing life-changing camp experiences to children with serious medical conditions, completely free of charge.
