๐ŸŽ—๏ธ Rotary Club of Lake Havasu City | August 3rd, 2026 Meeting Recap ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ

President Cameron opened our meeting with the 4-Way Test, the Pledge, and our Blessings. ๐Ÿ™

Taylor took the podium for gratitude time, and wow, so many great things to be thankful for this week! ๐Ÿ’›

We welcomed guests Theresa from the Wednesday Club and past member Katie back into the room. Thank you both for joining us! ๐Ÿ‘‹

๐ŸŽ‰ Big moment of the day: Becky presented a $1,000 donation to the Chamber Foundation for Education and Leadership, supporting the CEI Program. Theresa was on hand to accept the donation on the program's behalf!

Taylor went back to the podium to raise funds for our socials by fining us for our Happy, Sad, and Travel bucks! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ’ฐ

๐Ÿ’™ Today was a Day of Service to fill laundry baskets for Veterans returning from military service. Rotarians brought the filling items, and Sterilite donated the 24 laundry baskets. We donated any leftover products or items to The Clothes Closet and Havasu HOPE.

Grateful for this club and everything we get done together! ๐Ÿ“ธ Swipe through for all the moments from today's meeting โฌ‡๏ธ

โœจ Another great Rotary meeting in the books! ๐Ÿ“‹

President Cameron kicked off the meeting by welcoming and introducing our guests, including several membersโ€™ children as they prepare to head back to school this week, along with our local High School Interact students. Itโ€™s always inspiring to see the next generation getting involved! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

We also welcomed Andy's office manager, attending her third meeting and ready to become a member soon!

๐Ÿ“… Save the dates:

๐Ÿ” July 30th - Fireside Chat at Red Robin, noon
๐ŸŽ–๏ธ August 3rd - Veterans Baskets. Help us fill 24 baskets in the Bridge Room. Bring your donated items!
๐ŸŽ“ August 24th - Joe Navaretta Remembrance Scholarship
๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ October 10th - Highway Cleanup
๐ŸŒบ November 30th - Poinsettia Day

โœจ We have new pins and stickers for our club. Carrie could use extra hands with the International program. If you're able to help, reach out! Becky and Carrie are also working hard on a Mexico Grant for an in-person below El Paso, TX.

๐Ÿ“– Andrea reminded everyone about the dictionary handout coming up in September.

๐ŸŽ“ Special guest: We were honored to hear from Dr. Chrissy Holliday, President of Mohave College! Dr. Holliday, who moved to Kingman from Northern California, shared exciting updates on the College's bachelor's program and Workforce Development program. Her vision is to continue keeping Mohave College on the same trajectory and enhance the programs that have been created. She is excited to work with the communities to better the College.

๐Ÿ™ Gratitude moments with Taylor, our Sergeant at Arms:

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ Cal is grateful for the community's support during his re-election run for Mayor.
๐Ÿก Becky is grateful to Carrie for opening her home to her and Allison to attend a memorial.
๐Ÿ‘ถ Steve is grateful for his daughter-in-law, who gave birth to their new grandchild.
โœˆ๏ธ Ilan is grateful for the community and glad to be home from a couple of summer trips.
๐Ÿค— Maddie is grateful for how inviting the town is and is grateful to be welcomed wherever she goes.
๐ŸŽ“ Julia is grateful for all that Mohave College is doing.
๐ŸŽ’ Colleen is grateful for the kids going back to school, the normal routine of school (aren't we all!) ๐Ÿ˜„

Taylor also did a good job fining members for our socials. We had a number of members who shared travel bucks and happy bucks! ๐Ÿ’ฐ

โœจ Lake Havasu City Rotary Club Meeting Recap: July 20th, 2026 ๐ŸŒต

President Cameron kicked off another great meeting, with Taylor keeping the energy high throughout the morning. โ˜€๏ธ

๐Ÿ“ข Club Updates

We reviewed several upcoming events and important dates:

๐Ÿ”ฅ Fireside Chat: Thursday, July 30 at 12:00 PM at Red Robin
๐Ÿ“‹ Board Meeting: July 22 at AZ Republic
๐ŸŽ—๏ธ Community Service Project: August 3 in the Bridgeview Room

As part of our August 3 service project, we'll be assembling 24 gift baskets for local veterans. Please bring items to contribute so we can make each basket special and show our appreciation for those who have served. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Guest Speaker

Jesse Crawley shared an update on the coalition being formed to combat unlicensed contractors in our community. The initiative brings together members of the construction industry to promote consumer protection and professional standards. The coalition will be working collaboratively with the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce and CBIA to strengthen these efforts. ๐Ÿค

๐ŸŽ‰ Rotary Fun

Taylor wrapped up the meeting as Sergeant-at-Arms, and congratulations to Andy Ganas, whose name was drawn today. While Andy took home the drawing prize, the Ace of Spades remained hidden, so the jackpot continues to grow! ๐Ÿ’ฐ

Thank you to everyone who attended, and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming meetings and service projects as we continue making a positive impact in our community. ๐Ÿ’›

โœจ Rotary Meeting Recap: July 13th, 2026 ๐Ÿ“‹

President Cameron kicked off the meeting with a warm welcome and introduction to our guests! We had family members joining us, plus Tom and Gloria, Andy's office manager (who's looking to join Rotary ๐Ÿ‘€), and our wonderful Interact students. ๐ŸŽ‰

๐Ÿ™ Taylor led us in a beautiful Gratitude Moment.

๐Ÿ“… Mark your calendars:
๐Ÿ”ฅ Fireside Chat โ€“ July 30th at Red Robin. A great way to learn more about Rotary and how to get involved!
๐Ÿ“‹ Board Meeting โ€“ Wednesday, July 22nd at Rebel

๐Ÿ‘ Past President Becky presented our contribution to the Trash Bag Program with the Marine Association, and handed out Board member gifts and thank yous to those who couldn't make it to dinner. She also gave us an update on our Veteran Baskets project. Huge thanks to Sterilite for donating 24 laundry baskets to fill for our returning Veterans! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

๐Ÿ’œ Today's program featured Mary VanRoy and Kimberly Zanon from CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), an organization that supports foster care children. Empower Her House is a new program that is looking for volunteers.

Not all the kids get a CASA representative. It is a very confidential program and requires a lot of training, lots of notes and reports with the judge, all in the best interest of the child.

Mary has been a CASA volunteer for 28 years. She has seen so much success through the program. Mary loves teaching the kids to ride horses, hike, and enjoy the outdoors. ๐Ÿด๐ŸŒฒ

Kimberly updated us on Housing 928, which is breaking ground, and it is for teen girls.๐Ÿก

๐Ÿ˜„ And of course, Sergeant at Arms Taylor did his best to raise funds by fining all of us for silly little things!

Great meeting, great people, great cause. ๐Ÿ’›

What a way to wrap up an era! ๐ŸŽ‰

Today marked Becky's last meeting as president, closing out her 2nd term with a full house cheering her on! ๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ We kicked things off with a great classification talk from Collin Mitzenmacher, learning all about Waters Edge Wineries.

๐Ÿ† Then it was award time! We were proud to hand out some well-deserved Chamber recognitions to members who couldn't make it to the annual Chamber Awards Dinner:

๐ŸŽ“ Cal Sheehy โ€” CFEL Distinguished Alumni Award
๐ŸŽˆ Lake Havasu Balloon Festival โ€” Chamber Champion Award (Nonprofit)

Congratulations to both! ๐Ÿ™Œ

We closed things out with heartfelt thank yous to Becky and Cameron for throwing an amazing installation party, plus a round of Happy and Sad Bucks with Taylor. ๐Ÿ’›

Here's to new beginnings and another great year of Rotary! ๐Ÿค

๐ŸŽ‰ Rotary Installation Dinner Recap ๐ŸŽ‰

We had such a great time last week celebrating our Installation Dinner! ๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธโ›ณ On June 26th, we gathered at The Back Nine for a fun evening of golf challenges and Rotary tradition.

President Becky officially passed the gavel to Cameron, marking the start of the 2026-2027 Rotary year! ๐Ÿค

๐Ÿ† Congratulations again to Cal, named Rotarian of the Year! Your dedication does not go unnoticed.

Becky also took a moment to thank her Board for an incredible year of service before Cameron introduced his new Board to lead us forward. ๐Ÿ‘

A huge thank you to President Becky for an outstanding job guiding our Club through 2025-2026! ๐Ÿ’›

And cheers ๐Ÿฅ‚ to Cameron and his new Board! We cannot wait to see what this Rotary year brings.

โœจ Rotary Meeting Recap: June 22nd Edition ๐Ÿ“‹

President Becky kicked off the meeting by welcoming and introducing our guests, including our wonderful friends from the High School Interact Club, who never miss a meeting! ๐Ÿ™Œ Lisa also brought along a special guest, her granddaughter, Ashley. ๐Ÿ’•

๐Ÿ™ Gratitude Moments:
โ€ข Paul was grateful to be back after a recent hospital stay.
โ€ข Pete and Grant both shared how much they love being fathers.
โ€ข Niki was thankful for a full room of Rotarians and guests enjoying summer fellowship.
โ€ข Allison was grateful for a family trip away and a sweet Father's Day.

๐Ÿ“… Upcoming Events:
โ€ข Incoming Board Members Installation Dinner, Friday at The Back Nine, 6 to 9 pm.
โ€ข Havasu Health Fair is coming up, plus sign-ups are open for our bike helmet giveaway on July 18th.
โ€ข Gift bags are being prepared for our returning Veterans. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

๐ŸŽค Guest Speaker Spotlight:
We welcomed Rick, a fellow Rotarian and board member of the Marine Association, who shared the incredible work they do on our lake. ๐ŸŒŠ He shared that the Marine Association was started by some of the pioneers of Havasu to have a boating club.

Some of the things they get involved in are:
โ€ข The Quagga Mussels and buoy alignment.
โ€ข Working on improving their website to be an information source, with real-time water conditions and emergency contacts.
โ€ข Their signature Trash Bag Program covers 98 trash bag posts from Needles and down the lake, with roughly 40 of those being boat-in access only.
โ€ข With BLM down to just 3 personnel and unable to operate the boats, the Marine Association stepped up and organized a beach cleanup with volunteers, collecting 600 lbs of trash! ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช

We also heard from Nikky, Volunteer Coordinator and VIP of Marketing for the Marine Association, about their October lake shore cleanup and how vital their Volunteer Program is.

Kirk Conner, board and Auxiliary Coast Guard member, shared how the team supports lake safety at local events and offers Sober Captains through the organization.

Mark your calendars, their Boat Show fundraiser returns in March 2027! โ›ต

๐Ÿ˜„ Fun Finish:
Taylor was back as Sergeant at Arms, collecting a few friendly fines to support our social fund.

And congrats to Lisa and Ashley for winning Ace of Spades! ๐Ÿƒ๐ŸŽ‰

Thank you to everyone who joined us this week! ๐Ÿค

We kicked off the meeting with the introduction of guests, including those who joined us through Becky and Stephanie. It was also a pleasure to hear from the Interact Club, who introduced their new President and Secretary/Treasurer for the next school year. Congratulations to these young leaders as they prepare to serve their school and community!

๐Ÿ“… Upcoming Rotary Events:
โ€ข Installation Dinner โ€“ June 26th at The Back Nine
โ€ข Health Fair โ€“ July 18th

Our featured speaker was Judge K, who provided an insightful update on the Veterans Court program. Serving as a judge for 15 years, Judge K shared the remarkable success of this specialized court, which has been serving Lake Havasu City for 13 years. As the third Veterans Court established in Arizona and the first in a rural community, it continues to make a meaningful impact by helping prisoners address substance abuse, mental health challenges, and other obstacles through rehabilitation and support.

One of the most inspiring aspects of the program is that many graduates remain involved as mentors, helping guide others through the process. Strong support from community members, city leaders, and legal professionals continues to contribute to the programโ€™s long-term success.

๐Ÿ‘ A special thank you to Taylor, our Sergeant-at-Arms, for doing a great job raising funds for our social activities!

โ˜€๏ธ Summer Reminder: Rotary meetings will be held at Makai's throughout the summer.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for another informative and inspiring meeting. Together, we continue to make a positive difference in our community!
