Another Great Monday Rotary meeting! 💙💛

President Cameron started us off as we reflected on how we would like to honor our dear friend and fellow Rotarian, Jennifer Luzzi. Jennifer has meant so much to our Rotary family and our community, and we look forward to finding a meaningful way to celebrate her.

We were also lucky to have our honorary member, Bob Moreno, back in the building! It was wonderful to see Bob and recognize all he has done over the years. Bob, thank you for your dedication to Rotary and for everything you have given to our community. It was great having you back with us!

John Parrott from our Wednesday Rotary Club stopped by to encourage everyone to learn about the Lake Havasu City General Plan, read and understand the information, and most importantly, get out and vote. 🗳️

We celebrated Jean Works as Rotary of the month for all her work with our fireside chat

Andrea Helart spoke about the Chamber Foundation for Education and Leadership and its upcoming Community Dinner, where attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the great work the Chamber Foundation is doing throughout our community.

And Niki stepped up and filled in for Taylor today as our Sergeant-at-Arms. Thank you, Niki!

Another Monday filled with friendship, service, community, and plenty of Rotary spirit. 💙💛

💙💛 Another great Monday with the Lake Havasu City Rotary Club!

This week, we had the opportunity to meet at the new Mohave County Sheriff’s Office station, where we learned more about the work they’re doing to serve our community and were treated to an amazing tour of their new facility. A huge thank you to the Sheriff’s Office for welcoming us and taking the time to show us around!

We were also happy to recognize two of our wonderful Rotarians! 🌟

👏 Jean Works received her Rotarian of the Month award for July in recognition of the time and effort she put into organizing our Fireside Chats.

👏 Ginny Sautner was recognized as our Rotarian of the Month for September for everything she has stepped up to do for our club. We truly appreciate her willingness to jump in wherever needed!

It was a great afternoon of learning, fellowship, and recognizing members who continue to make a difference in our club and our community.

What an awesome day for our RotaKids! 💜

RotaKids & K-Club had such an awesome time playing Bingo with the residents at Avista Assisted Living today! 💜We loved the smiles, laughs, and time spent together. Thank you, Avista, for having us! 🥰

💙💛 Another great Monday with the Lake Havasu City Rotary Club!

President Cameron Moses led us through today’s meeting, where we had the pleasure of welcoming Marsha Becker from Lake Havasu High School as our guest speaker. Marsha shared some of the amazing Career & Technical Education (CTE) opportunities available to local students and the hands-on skills and experiences these programs provide as students prepare for their futures. 🎓🛠️

We also celebrated our Students of the Month, led by Sam Springberg. Congratulations to these outstanding students! We love having the opportunity to recognize young people in our community for their hard work and accomplishments. 🌟

We wrapped up the meeting with Sergeant-at-Arms Taylor Harrison, bringing a little Rotary fun to the end of another great meeting.

💙 A Meaningful Day at Rotary 💛

Today was a sad and heartfelt day as we mourned the loss of a very special member of our Rotary family, Jennifer Luzzi. Jennifer’s friendship, dedication, and service to Rotary touched so many, and she will be deeply missed.

Past President Becky Goldberg led today’s meeting, beginning with a time of gratitude led by Sergeant-at-Arms Taylor Harrison. Many of our members shared what they were grateful for about knowing Jennifer and having the opportunity to serve alongside her. It was a beautiful tribute and reminder of the friendships that Rotary brings into our lives.

Ginny Sautner then shared a heartfelt thank-you note from her father, John Navaretta, thanking our club for dedicating a scholarship in memory of his late wife, Jo Navaretta. 💙

We were also happy to officially welcome Michelle Billings as the newest member of our Rotary family! We’re excited to have you, Michelle, and look forward to serving our community together.

Our program today featured Tanya Pickren with Go Lake Havasu, who shared more about their work and what’s happening in our community.

Today’s meeting truly represented so much of what Rotary is about—friendship, gratitude, remembrance, service, and community.

Rest in peace, Jennifer. Your impact on our Rotary family and our community will not be forgotten. 💙💛

🧺 Welcome Home, Veterans! 🇺🇸

Lake Havasu City Rotary Club donated Welcome Home Baskets for Veterans Services to Havasu Community Health Foundation!

Big thanks to Sterilite for donating the laundry baskets that made this possible. 🙌

The Havasu Community Health Foundation hosts Veterans Treatment Court and runs the Veterans Resource Team, which provides Veterans with transportation to court appearances and UA testing, helping support their success in the program.

These Welcome Home Baskets will now be available to Veterans who are securing housing, giving them a helping hand as they settle in. 💙

✨ Rotary Meeting Recap: August 24th, 2026 📋

What a great meeting! President Cameron opened with Taylor leading us in shared Gratitude, and there was so much to be thankful for this week. 💛

A Special Presentation 🏆
Cameron and Jamie honored John with a special presentation for Jo, the Jo Navaretta Scholarship. Jo and John have given so much to our community! Jo dedicated 24 years to the Governing Board in Education, served on the Mohave Community College Foundation, and was part of the campaign to bring ASU to Lake Havasu City. What a legacy! 🙌

Guest Speaker: Water in Our City 💧
We welcomed Tim Kellet from Lake Havasu City Public Works (Water Division), who shared some great insight:
🚰 32,000 water service connections citywide
🏠 The City is responsible for all water reaching our property
📉 They are targeting water loss. The industry standard for water loss is 10% or less, we're at 8.9%!
🔧 They also track where main breaks are located. The industry is 20-22%, and we are running 15.8 in 2024 and 12.4 in 2025 per 100 miles of water.
💰 The water budget is $40M, with 24% going toward replacing older water mains
♻️ Replacing the older water meters helps to reduce water loss

Our water company is a city-owned business, and the rate we pay is a service to receive the water at our property.
