☀️ Heat-related illnesses can sneak up quickly. 🥵🌡️ With temperatures soaring across Mohave and La Paz Counties this August, keeping our community safe and resilient means staying informed. Do you know how to tell the difference between Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke?

👉 Heat Exhaustion is your body's warning system. It means you need to get to a cool place, rest, and hydrate immediately.

👉 Heat Stroke is a life-threatening medical emergency. If you or someone around you exhibits signs like confusion, fainting, or hot, red skin without sweating, call 911 immediately.

💡 Extra Heat Safety Tips to Keep in Mind: Since extreme summer days require extra caution, here are a few more ways to protect yourself and your loved ones:

🥤 Hydrate Before You're Thirsty: Don't wait until you feel parched to drink water. Sip continuously throughout the day, and limit sugary or caffeinated drinks which can dehydrate you faster.

🕒 Avoid Peak Sun Hours: Try to schedule outdoor chores, dog walks, or exercise for early in the morning or after the sun goes down.

🚗 Check the Back Seat: Never, ever leave children, seniors, or pets in a parked car, not even for "just a minute." Interior car temperatures can reach lethal levels in seconds.
