Join us! Paul Harris, a lawyer organized the original Rotary Club in Chicago Illinois.

It first met February 23, 1905
Harris missed the friendship he had enjoyed in a small town. His idea was to bring together individuals of different business and professions so they could recapture the friendliness of the small towns many had known as youngsters. The name “Rotary” was chosen because the Club met in rotation at each member’s place of business. From the beginning, the ideal of friend

ship, fellowship and service to others has spread through six continents. For over 99 years, concerned individuals have made Rotary’s motto “SERVICE ABOVE SELF” meaningful to people throughout the world. Presently more than 1,200,000 men and women in 165 countries belong to over 31,000 Rotary Clubs associated with Rotary International. Rotary is not a secret organization and does not seek to interfere with any religious or political beliefs.

The Rotary Club of Lake Geneva raised funds to provide emergency food bags for Open Arms Free Clinic clients at our Annual Pg Roast. Thanks to Champs and all who attended and won lots of great baskets.

This past month we awarded 5 scholarships to Badger students and 1 to a Gateway student, a Lake Geneva Symphony member and the Best of Show at the Geneva Lake Art Foundation Show.

We appreciate all who enjoy those delicious Oktoberfest brats that help us fund these scholarships.

The Rotary Club of Lake Geneva raised $6,368 for the Lake Geneva Food Pantry at its Wines of the Wild World fundraiser at The Bottle Shop on May 6th. A great time was had by all with the action featuring wine tastings from five continents, wildlife-themed tasting stations, appetizers, and prize raffles. Thanks to all, especially event sponsor Safari Lake Geneva, who contributed to such a fun and successful evening. Join us again in 2027!!
