WHY???? WHY was this bird taken to Lakeland Animal Shelter instead of Fellow Mortals Wildlife Hospital or a vet??? WHY???

And is this stray hold a joke??? Why won't this bird be put back where it belongs, in Como, where it has lived peacefully for YEARS??

Why???

TWO HUNDRED SIXTEEN DAYS....MEG is waiting for foster care. :( Why?

PLEASE DON'T SCROLL PAST. PLEASE SHARE. PLEASE HELP. WE NEED TO LINE UP A FOSTER HOME FOR MEG NOW!!!

Milwaukee Pets Alive was created to save the animals that are or would be killed by the Inhumane Society and Animal Kill and Control because there is one God, and no one else gets to play that role. Every life is deserving of life. Every life is important. We thought getting support for such an effort and such animals would be a given. It hasn't been in this community. 216 days we have pleaded for a foster home for Meg and still none. Yet the support for the kill shelters overflows. Upside-down land. But there's always one person in this sea of those that look away from the animals we help that doesn't - that runs towards the animals we serve, not away. That says, oh my gosh - how is no one helping this precious life? It doesn't take them seeing the need 50 times. They see it the first time and they apply. Our foster parents, while a small bunch, are a stand-out group of humans. They run towards when everyone else runs away. It sadly takes awhile for that one person to find our animals but never this long. Where is that hero for Meg? We need them now.

Because we're looking to reach a fresh section of our community that cares, if you are seeing this for the first time, you may not know, Meg is an undersocialized kitty who has never been in a home, but her caretaker of over a year has done a wonderful job of beginning her socialization in the only environment she's ever known - the outdoors. MPA takes these kitties who have shown the desire for attention and affection of people and gives them a chance at a longer, safer, carefree life indoors. We need foster homes to give them these opportunities. While what they need in a foster home to succeed is ordinary, they need a special person who cares about giving an "undercat" a chance. If that's you and you have what Meg needs, do what you were put on this planet to do - fill a need that you fit. Help when you are called to help. Apply to foster Meg.

Meg is in need of a quiet, calm, peaceful adult-only home with an individual or couple who are patient, understanding, and gentle. There should be no dogs in her home. She could be the only animal in the home, or, an appropriately paired resident cat can really help us socialize the undersocialized ones by "showing them the ropes" of a home and being something familiar (a member of their own species) when everything around them is new and a little scary. For Meg, the purrfect-pairing would be a young (because Meg is young - she's about 2 years old), playful, curious, outgoing, happy-go-lucky male cat or two - but no female cats. Milwaukee Pets Alive serves Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Kenosha, and Ozaukee counties and all of our foster homes must be located therein.

How often in this life to have the chance to really be a hero? Not often. But you could be that to Meg. If you are who we just described, go to www.milwaukeepetsalive.org/foster and complete and return a foster application without delay.

If you are not a match, don't look away. Help Meg. Share her need. We need to find humans that will help in this community, and we need your help to do so.

All questions must be directed to our foster and animal care teams at [email protected]

SALEM is still out on an adventure in Elkhorn. We have not given up hope.
He escaped my dad's window by busting out the screen a little over a month ago!

We don't have a fancy post ready to go for this one, but we didn't want to miss the opportunity to thank Greg Kenney and Celine Caithamer for their very generous donation today. 🙏🧡

We met via video chat with Celine and Nancy last night to talk about them starting TNVR in the Fox Lake area. Like Walworth County, there is no sponsored or paid programs for people in the Fox Lake area. 🐈🪤

Celine and Nancy wanted to get more information about talking to their local leadership, as well as equipment, space, volunteers and services needed to run a successful TNVR program. 📋🏛️🤝

Celine is also fostering a tiny litter of kittens about three weeks old. 🐱🍼 We took them some bottle-feeding supplies today and traps. We have some equipment loaned out but will be supplying them with more when they return from a trip out east. ✈️

We have also put them in touch with Feisty Felines who works in that same area and their team is excited to have some trappers in the Fox Lake area. 🧡🐾

We have decided to use some of the donation to fix our clinic van window that was damaged from the hailstorm on one of our last runs. 🚐💨🌨️

What will we do with the rest of it?

We are planning to reopen clinic either July 15th or August 1st, but we have also decided as a group to use this very generous donation gifted to us today to provide 10 spay/neuter surgeries free of charge to the first 10 people who email us with "THANKS GREG" in the subject line. ✂️🏥🎉

📧 Email: [email protected] with the name, age, s*x and color of your cat and the first ten to reserve a space will get their clinic visit thanks to Greg and Celine. Each reservation will provide $150 worth of services to each pet or TNVR:
✅ One spay/neuter
✅ One microchip
✅ One rabies vaccine
✅ One distemper vaccine
✅ A nail trim (if indoor)
✅ Pain meds

Our future will prioritize clinics and providing vet services for those who would otherwise not be able to afford them. 🧡

Today we filled up our tiny pick up with gas and it was $80... things are going to get worse for the pet overpopulation crisis. 😞📈 We can make a bigger difference than ever by funding services for the pets and families of our community who will need our help.

Our friends at Wisconsin Community Veterinary Center need our help in sharing this poster! Please spread the word, especially if you have reach in this are in Madison. Thank you!

There’s been a sighting on Moose!! Spotted late last night on security footage nearby, and he is still wearing his cone. We’re calling all the business yet again to try and track him down, but please keep an eye out. We also got another photo of him from the owner, to help better show his size and what he looks like.

Reminder: do NOT chase him but please report any sightings to the owner at 920-240-9416

THANKFUL THURSDAY! 🧡🐾

Where do we even begin? This week has been heavy, but our hearts are FULL of gratitude for the incredible humans who make EVERYTHING possible. 🙏✨

First and MOST importantly… WENDY WRIGHT 🏆🐱💥

For FOUR YEARS, Wendy has tirelessly processed EVERY single adoption application for us… EVERY. SINGLE. CAT. 😭🙌 Nearly 600 cats placed into loving homes because of HER dedication and determination. Wendy, we could NOT have saved so many lives without you. THANK YOU doesn't feel like enough, but THANK YOU from the deepest part of our hearts. 🧡🐾

Angie Gregory – where do we even start?! 😭👏

Angie shows up to work for a community she doesn't even live in… EVERY SINGLE DAY… at 80 YEARS OLD. 🚗💨💪 You are our inspiration and our HERO, Angie. Thank you for reminding us what love in action looks like. 🌟🧡

Critter Junction Pet Rescue Fond du Lac – thank you again, from the bottom of our souls. 🙌🐱🐶

You gave 9 adults and 2 kittens safety, love, and a path to their forever homes. We will never forget that. 🏠💕

EVERYONE – please go LIKE Critter Junction's page! If you can send donations, gifts, or supplies, please do. If you can't, please SHARE their needs!! 📢🤍 Every share helps save lives.

DR. SHAWN & THE Harvard Veterinary Clinic PC TEAM 🩺🧡

Last week you saw KG & Tippy… this week you saw Sunflower (now Daisy 🌻) and Jasper. Thank you for everything you do. Thank you to everyone who donated to make paying the $400+ in vet bills in Harvard possible.

And Lake Geneva Animal Hospital – thank you for taking Jasper in on an emergency visit. 🚨🐈‍⬛💙 You are angels.

FELIWAY DIFFUSER REFILLS FOR CRITTER JUNCTION – THANK YOU to all who sent! 🧴🙌

Sandy C and Sherri M reached out to send some… and Jane, thank YOU for helping Critter Junction, Jasper and VALLEY OF THE KINGS SANCTUARY AND RETREAT too! HUGE impact. 🧡

TO EVERYONE WHO DONATED TO JASPER'S EMERGENCY 💔🐾

Carol, Karen, Stephanie, Jane, Jennie, Ashley, Pamela, Elizabeth… and everyone who called into the vet (we are SO sorry we didn't get a full list – you know who you are!!). THANK YOU. 🙏

Wisconsin Community Veterinary Center and our med coordinator Amy – thank you for the mini run last week! 🚐🐱

And thank you to Carolyn Jean Robbins for bringing in her kitty, and Daniel & Claudia for bringing in theirs. 🧡

TNVR UPDATE! 🪤🐈
Three TNVR fixed last week from Pam See via Lisa Fuentez Hernandez… AND Lisa made a donation too (May 1!). Thank you, Lisa! 🙌

🧡 We need to start getting some funding for the recovery shed in Burlington at Lisa's, fall will be here in no time! If anyone can help, please reach out to Lisa. Every dollar counts. 🛠️🐾

AND TO EVERYONE OUT THERE IN THE THICK OF IT – we see you. 👀💔 Up to your elbows in kittens and cats who need help, services, and forever homes… WE SEE YOU. 🐱💪
If anyone needs our help – we will do our best to support, refer, train, educate, or assist in ANY way we can. You are not alone. 🧡🤝

HONEST MOMENT 😢
We are still trying to process the last of our crew being gone. Even though days are still busy with calls, emergencies, and follow-ups… we miss them deeply. 💔 It feels like YEARS have passed… and it's only two weeks tomorrow. 😞

We thought we'd bounce back quicker. That the pain of not finding placement for them all would be less, sooner. But it's not. We think of them daily. Sometimes all day. We miss their individual personalities and the ways they showed us love. 🐾🧡

We hope beyond hope that they are learning to love new people… and coming to understand that more than just two humans can be trusted. We put them in the right hands to do that. 🤞

Thank you again, Critter Junction. 🙏

WE ARE HEALING 🧡🩹
We are doing our best to organize and get meetings together… but really, we are just trying to heal still.

We're sorry we are so affected by everything that has happened. We really do want to get back to work as soon as possible. But we want to make sure we are truly ready… truly healthy… truly prepared to serve the animals and residents of our community in the way they have come to trust from us. 🧡🏡

LAST BUT NOT LEAST… JASPER! 🐈‍⬛💥
Speaking of Jasper… he is doing MUCH better than Monday morning. MUCH. 🙌😭
This video is from yesterday 👇🎥
And we have been told by his human that there has been even MORE improvement since this video!!! 🧡🐾

We are all still praying for Jasper and hope you will help us. 🙏🕯️
THANK YOU ALL – from the bottom of our hearts – for believing in us and sticking with us. We couldn't do any of this without you. 🧡

The Como Critters Team🐾🙌
