Scholarship Squirrel is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial aid, tuition assistance, scholarships, grants, and other awards and services to low-income, economically-disadvantaged children and youth. Funds will be targeted for P-12 private education for piano lessons and other music lessons, music and arts related education and instruction, and arts-based and other alternativ
e learning environments and general educational opportunities. This is for kids and families that are left out when it comes to the opportunities for private instruction, private lessons, personal tutoring, and forms of private schooling that wealthier families are able to take advantage of much more easily. Fundraising for this organization will include the operation of antique, collectibles, consignment, and thrift stores, and related services. These stores also will provide low-cost products, recycling, and various special services toward the needs of residents in the communities we serve. In addition to this start-up drive, we will be seeking large donors and corporate grants, etc. For this initial startup of operations, I have launched a GoFundMe campaign. Perhaps you can help me kick-off this project. For this initial startup fundraiser, 50% of donations will be saved and will go directly toward actual future scholarships, and 50% of donations will go toward operations. Later, when we are up and running and financially stable, our target will be 80-90% scholarships, and only 10-20% operations. Also, for those who are local, please hold on to the things you are considering donating to other places (Goodwill or Salvation Army, etc.). If you can wait a little while, I will be happy to take those things off your hands for the opening of the first store!
