What is a Song Circle?
In a song circle, we learn easy-to-memorize songs that we sing as a group. Sometimes there is a Song Leader guiding us, and sometimes we take turns leading songs as a community. It’s not about perfect performances; it’s about the joy of sharing music, singing together, and connecting with others through the universal language of song. All voices and skill levels are celebrated! The supportive group container welcomes exploration and play while reminding us of our power, truth and belonging.

Charlotte Malin Collins (Althaea) is a musician, singer-songwriter, teacher, and healer devoted to guiding others into direct, communal, and transformational encounters with music and Soul. Rooted in the sacred power of sound and ritual, she uses music as a gateway to deeper presence, emotional expression, and courageous vulnerability. With decades of experience as a classical musician, she leads group of all levels into music-making with easy and joy.

Her offerings weave together community songleading, grief rituals, embodiment mentorship, holistic concerts, sound healing, and original compositions for film, dance, and podcasts. Each is an invitation to return to the heart and awaken the wisdom of the body and spirit. Althaea’s debut album of original music, Welcome Home, was released in September 2025.

Malin Collins holds a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from Northwestern University (‘14) and a Master of Music degree in viola performance (‘17) from New England Conservatory. She currently serves as the Viola Instructor at Amherst College and lives in Northampton, MA.

Althaea’s original songleading combines dynamic layer songs, simple heartfelt mantras, sassy and energetic anthems, and prayers for our collective liberation. No prior singing experience is necessary - Althaea loves to bring groups of all levels into comfort and joy in music-making. Our collective is especially excited to highlight this dance as a kid and family friendly event. Although this is the motto for all of our dances, we rarely get access to the beach during day hours. Sept 6th we have the ability to start our dance as early as 2 pm and it is our intention to provide a supportive and welcoming space for kids of all ages. There will be a kids song circle, sand toys, an art station, bubbles and of course, dancing! Come out with the whole family and Help us celebrate what has been an incredible season of beach dances. We appreciate our community so much. 💗

🎶 Ghost Pipe is the spirit-channeled experience of holistic psychotherapist, Connor Wills. Ghost Pipe is meant to be more of a transmuted healing experience than just a DJ set. 

Ghost Pipe sets tend to lean toward organic tribal beats from West Africa and South America with dubby drops peppered in, but are always 100% unplanned and improvised moment by moment based on the energy of those in attendance.

Folks in the audience can also expect to hear sampled vocal wisdom from indigenous leaders around the world, experts in trauma healing, and other reminders about self-love woven in over each track. Come experience music as a modality for healing!

David Azer is a musician who loves community song. The primal ancient practice of singing lifts him up and he loves sharing it with others. Raised Jewish he loves bringing his background to community spaces. A Jewish holiday of tu bishvat aligns with imbolc and may get to vibe with our gathering.

Join us on Saturday, August 9, for a deep summer ecstatic dance groove with DJMK! Summer is flowing along, and the sun & surf are beaming. Toes in the sand, wind in our wings, salt on our tongue. We love dancing in community with mama ocean.
