Join us for our last beach dance of the season ✨💖

Autumn time is a special season to be communing with the ocean. The beach is quiet, the sun is still bright in the sky during peak hours with a slight crisp in the air and the ocean is the warmest yet.

We will meet for a midday to dance to take advantage of the warmth.

🌀 Arrival at 2pm
🌀 Opening circle at 2:15
🌀 Dance 2:30-4:45 with father otter
🌀 4:45 closing circle

🍓Fruit and tea will be offered, (feel free to bring some to share as well)

FAMLIES AND KIDS WELCOME!! Kids under 12 = free entry
$30 donation in exchange for headset. Venmo in advance to reserve or pay at the “door”

✨A little about our DJ✨

FATHER OTTER (Nash Atkins) Nash 🦦
is a lifelong disciple of music. Learning piano at the age of 7 has dovetailed into a myriad of genres, cultures, and approaches to the musical terrain. Over the last 10 years he has traveled all over the US offering sound journeys, live musical performances, and DJ sets across intentional gathering spaces. He draws from a deep well of musical knowledge put into practice with experiential spiritual awareness and full presence. Employing a powerful mix of droning sounds, hypnotic guitar playing, complex harmonies and alluring primal beats — Father Otter connects the listener inward and upward in the spirit of expression, evolution, transformation, and celebration.

We are so excited to welcome LightRay to the jersey shore for an 8/8 lions gate dance!

LightRay is the rhythmic force of nature behind a sound that’s as primal as it is futuristic. A lifelong drummer and percussionist, he brings decades of groove-driven experience to the decks, weaving Afro House, Tribal Bass, and sacred rhythms into healing dancefloor experiences. With a background in live bands and organic percussion, LightRay fuses live electronic drums and acoustic percussion into his DJ sets to create immersive journeys that awaken the body and elevate the spirit.

Before stepping into the DJ world, LightRay performed for years as a drummer and percussionist across live electronica, jam, and funk scenes, most prominently with the band Signal Path. The group toured North America for years, helping to forge the live electronica genre, rocking venues with bands like Lotus, Particle, Umphree’s McGee and playing major festivals like Bonnaroo and High Sierra Music Festival. Now LightRay channels that same improvisational, electronic energy into his live DJ sets, blending ancestral rhythms with modern textures and deep, primal bass.

Whether he’s behind the turntables or drum kit or leading a communal drum circle, LightRay is here to move energy. His mission is simple: Music is Healing. Beats are Bliss.

***IMPORTANT UPDATE***

Hello to our dear Coastal Rhythms' community! We have been loving everyone's excitement around our approaching first dance of the season.

Similar to surrendering to the shifting tides of the sea, we are asked by mother nature to be flexible this weekend. With the safety risks of the air quality and the incoming rain, we've decided to move our dance to the rain date this Sunday with a slightly earlier time 5:30-8:30pm. The sun will be out and most of the smoke should be cleared!

If you've already donated money in exchange for a headset and are not able to make the rain date, you can either use that donation for a future event or reach out for a refund.

For those who are able to join- we are excited to dance with you next to the ocean 🌊 and under the full moon 🌕
I know aGa has prepared an extra special DJ set for us!

Welcome aGa 🎉

aGa’s is a dancer and a DJ. Her love for dance goes beyond passion—it's a therapeutic experience that allows her to release and be fully present. By tapping into her personal dance journey, she creates DJ mixes that take listeners on a deep emotional adventure. Blending various music styles rooted in tribal and organic sounds, aGa creates a well balanced and transformative experience for all.

aGa's DJ journey began as a techno enthusiast and co-founder of Techno Therapy—a collective dedicated to hosting electronic music events in the Hudson Valley. However, her heart ultimately led her to the conscious dance scene and the realm of Ecstatic Dance DJing. Today, she shares her passion by performing at Ecstatic Dance events and is the driving force behind Ecstatic Dance Beacon, a bi-monthly event in Beacon NY.

What is a Song Circle?
In a song circle, we learn easy-to-memorize songs that we sing as a group. Sometimes there is a Song Leader guiding us, and sometimes we take turns leading songs as a community. It’s not about perfect performances; it’s about the joy of sharing music, singing together, and connecting with others through the universal language of song. All voices and skill levels are celebrated! The supportive group container welcomes exploration and play while reminding us of our power, truth and belonging.

Charlotte Malin Collins (Althaea) is a musician, singer-songwriter, teacher, and healer devoted to guiding others into direct, communal, and transformational encounters with music and Soul. Rooted in the sacred power of sound and ritual, she uses music as a gateway to deeper presence, emotional expression, and courageous vulnerability. With decades of experience as a classical musician, she leads group of all levels into music-making with easy and joy.

Her offerings weave together community songleading, grief rituals, embodiment mentorship, holistic concerts, sound healing, and original compositions for film, dance, and podcasts. Each is an invitation to return to the heart and awaken the wisdom of the body and spirit. Althaea’s debut album of original music, Welcome Home, was released in September 2025.

Malin Collins holds a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from Northwestern University (‘14) and a Master of Music degree in viola performance (‘17) from New England Conservatory. She currently serves as the Viola Instructor at Amherst College and lives in Northampton, MA.
