At tonight’s BCC Meeting 5/21/2026 the Board of County Commissioners voted to LIFT the Burn Ban.

Please use caution when Burning any leaves /brush 🔥, have your water close by and a protective barrier around your fire for containment.🔥

Please share with your family, friends, and neighbors. Let’s all be safe and continue to protect our community.

‼️🌧️ We all appreciate the rain fall and want to see more of it come in the near future to fill our dry lakes and rivers. Please keep in mind that even with all the rain that we have had so far Columbia County is STILL under a 🔥BURN BAN 🔥!! We need a significant amount of rain before the ban is lifted.

Once the Ban is lifted you will be notified as soon as possible. Until then please practice safe measures and no burning.

I know we all appreciate the rainy morning and are hoping for more rainfall over the next 24 hours. Some places in the District have received more than 2 inches of rain already today! If you're looking for totals near you, you can visit the District's Real-Time Rainfall page to keep track of rainfall.

Yesterday, Columbia County Fire Rescue responded to a wildfire in the area of Double Run Road and Tammy Lane that quickly grew to an estimated 10–15 acres before being brought under control. The fire was determined to have been caused by fireworks.
This incident highlights exactly why a burn ban is currently in effect across our county. In recent weeks, crews have responded not only to careless burning, but also to well-attended yard debris fires that have escaped control due to dry conditions.
We ask all residents to do their part to protect our community. Please adhere to the burn ban ordinance and avoid any activities that could spark a wildfire.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to keeping Columbia County safe.

Corinth's Annual Fish Fry will be Saturday October 18, 2025 from 4-6 p.m. Plates are a $12 donation. There is also a Cake Auction held on the day of the event. Corinth's address is 346 NW Corinth Drive, Lake City, FL. 32055. They look forward to welcoming a big crowd.
