Tonight’s stargazing event is cancelled.
My neighborhood (north of Lake City) has received a SET evacuation notice due to a sudden increase in the Elk Creek fire.
Ironically, conditions over Lake City are fair.
Hopefully, things will improve soon.
I hate canceling but I need to remain close to my family and our home.
Thank you for your understanding.

We had a great and curious crowd last night at stargazing…unfortunately, heavy clouds and rain arrived at 9 am (just as it was getting dark)! 🌧️🤯
Despite the conditions, I always enjoy meeting great people, seeing twin fawn, and a chilled out moose! 😊
The next stargazing session will be Tuesday, August 4 from 8;00 to 10:00 pm at the Slumgullion observation site. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

Lake City Skies will hold a stargazing session this evening, July 21, at the Slumgullion observation site from 8:30 to 10:30 PM. The site is located 10 miles south on Highway 149 from the Lake City information center.
Make sure and bring warm clothing, a folding chair and your imagination! Thank you for dimming your headlights when you arrive and when you leave the area.

Tonight’s stargazing program is CANCELLED due to the conditions from the Elk Creek fire near Lake City. We hope conditions will be better next Tuesday.
Thank you for your understanding. ✨✨✨

Smoky conditions are returning, which makes tonight stargazing session very doubtful. ☹️ I will try to provide an update around 7:30 PM tonight (July 7)
