NMB Issues Updated Tally Date in Alaska – Hawaiian Representation Case
Dear Sisters and Brothers:
The National Mediation Board (NMB) has issued an official update affecting the Alaska Airlines – Hawaiia Airlines Representation Vote (Case No. R-7669). According to the Investigators’ February 5, 2026, correspondence, recent disruptions in Washington, D.C., including severe winter weather that closed federal agencies and a temporary lapse in government funding, impacted the Board’s operations and required an adjustment to the election schedule.
The NMB has rescheduled the ballot tally, originally planned for February 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM, to February 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM. This tally will take place at NMB offices in Washington, D.C. Importantly, the Board emphasized that the voting period is not being extended. However, the NMB will accept duplicate ballots
received by 10:00 AM on February 24, 2026. All other election procedures remain unchanged. We would like to thank everyone who has already mailed in their ballot. If you have not yet voted, please mail your ballot as soon as possible to ensure your voice is counted in this critical representation decision for Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines employees. We will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.
Sincerely and fraternally,
John M. Coveny, Jr.
President/Directing General Chair
