Faith Share Outreach

Faith Share Outreach We are a thriving and growing non-profit organization reaching out, finding and sharing resources to meet the needs of residents of Cameron Parish.

Hurricane Laura came in on Aug 26, 2020 and set up back a little. That storm damaged the building that Faith Share used for many years. We want to thank the family for donating the building, thank individuals, school groups and businesses in the community for supporting us. We are conducting free distributions of supplies, food, household items in pop-up events while preparing to move to a new building.

We want to express our gratitude to United Way of Southwest Louisiana for a generous grant! This will provide funds for the upcoming fiscal year starting July, 2025 to the end of June, 2026.

We have been blessed by United Way this past year, and they made it possible to use 100% of these funds to give direct assistance of food and supplies to families in Cameron Parish. We will continue to operate in the same way. Also, we thank our local individuals, churches and businesses who give generous donations.

We keep our costs down because we do not pay anyone to work in this effort. Everything is accomplished by volunteer workers providing the legwork! These volunteers come from our local communities of Grand Lake, Sweetlake, Big Lake, Cameron, Creole and all points in between. Young students from Grand Lake High School give of their time and energy to pack and help distribute these supplies.

And also we owe many thanks to Dinah Landry and the Cameron Parish Action Agency and Cameron Parish Council on Aging for their compassion, guidance, and endless work to find the greatest needs and help us distribute to our seniors and other younger families. It's a joint effort! God blesses in many ways!

We are thankful for a blessed and joyful year of 2024. Many families were helped through the generous United Way of Southwest La. grant. We were able to give large bags of assorted household supplies, hygiene supplies and basic non-perishable food items to more than 80 families so far and will continue to find families who need a little extra assistance to make ends meet this next year. Thank you also to the Cameron Council On Aging/Area Agency on Aging who have coordinated with our non-profit and also the Grand Lake High School civic clubs such as Beta Club, Student Council and other organizations to pack and distribute to families. Together we are able to make a difference and give support and encouragement to families in our area.
