We are a zero budget, volunteer movement with vision to connect people of character with children in need to deliver help and hope through tutoring and positive role models. Why we are doing this: In developing Bridge Builders and other programs to support children in schools, it has become apparent that some children don’t have the support at home to get their studies done. Sometimes, these kids
don’t have any adults in their life who are not mixed up in drugs, gangs, or invested in the street life. We’re thinking this cannot be under our watch. Our Plan:
Þ Pilot Site: We started the pilot site in January 2011 with a single location, Zion Tabernacle on Shattuck St. This location is a pilot, and our goal is to inspire and lead other groups of caring people to open HomeworkNight in their neighborhoods. Every Monday Night when school is open, 5-7 pm at Zion's Community Center
Þ Walk to Ignite the Education Movement in our community. This passion is rising up from students who want their community to be different! The Walk is on MLK Day, and our 2nd Walk was a great success!
Þ Celebration of Children - Annual Banquet is an opportunity to showcase the abilities of our Children to serve and lead, with the support of caring adults. Look on this page for the speeches of the children - get ready to be moved!
Þ Inspiring and Connecting New Adults to do Homework Night in your Neighborhood. We have positive relationships with the school leaders, and we want to help you launch Homework Night in your neighborhood, to connect people of character with children in need all over our community.
