Dr. Francis G. Bulber Youth Orchestra

Dr. Francis G. Bulber Youth Orchestra Lake Charles, Louisiana Youth Orchestra The Francis G. FGBYO also offers Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Guitar classes each semester.

Bulber Youth Orchestra, founded in 1994 is composed of The Petite Sinfoniettas -beginning string instruction classes; The Concert String Orchestra - Intermediate string instruction classes; The Symphonic Youth Orchestra - Class consisting of middle school and high school students who have met audition requirements; Pat Chaffin String Ensemble - consists of students selected to play in a small grou

p environment at various venues. During the summer FGBYO hosts the Mid-Summer Music Madness, a two week summer camp designed to provide fun-filled quality music and learning experiences for aspiring musicians and experienced music students. FGBYO activities throughout the year include semester-end concerts and various community performances. Additionally, instrument petting zoos are conducted to introduce children to various instruments.

Introducing Amorahh Wesley, another amazing Dr. Francis G. Bulber Youth Orchestra instructor.

Amorahh Wesley is the bridge Beginner Strings instructor. She has a Music Education degree from McNeese State University, she is an FGBYO alum, and she is the music teacher at Combre-Fondel Elementary School.

Amorahh is a freelance Violinist who has performed with the orchestra in various performances by The Louisiana Choral Foundation, First United Methodist Church, and The Lake Charles Messiah Chorus. She also enjoys playing weddings and other events in the community.

Her students in the Petite Sinfonietta II adore her. She is so great with our young musicians, and she is a real treasure to work with.

Her class will be performing tonight at the St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Lake Charles. Come and see their amazing progress this semester!

Introducing Cassandra Everage, Dr. Francis G. Bulber Youth Orchestra instructor for the beginner strings class.

Cassandra has a Bachelor of General Studies with a Concentration in Behavioral Sciences from McNeese State University and Minors in Psychology, Special Education (K-12), and Instrumental Music Performance (Trombone).

Mrs. Everage is a Special Education Teacher at Bell City High School and is alumni of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity and Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity.

Cassandra has previously performed with The Pride of McNeese, Courtside Cowboys, McNeese Symphonic Band, McNeese Concert Chorale, McNeese Jazz Ensemble, McNeese Chamber Singers, and Last Minute Big Band.

The children of the FGBYO Petite Sinfonietta just love Mrs. Cassandra. She is so good with them, and her class has shown amazing results!

We would like to congratulate our Advanced Symphonic student, Abigail Borel for her latest achievements!

This year, she was selected as the Assistant Concertmaster “1st violin 2nd chair” for the Multi-District Honor Orchestra at Baton Rouge Magnet School. She also earned a spot as Violin II in the 2025–26 Louisiana All-State High School Orchestra.

Last year, she served as the Assistant Concertmaster for the first ever Louisiana All-State Middle School Orchestra.

At 14, Abigail is now a high school freshman and has been a member of our youth orchestra (FGBYO) since age 7, steadily growing as a musician each season.
We’re grateful for her dedication and the positive spirit she brings to our orchestra, and we look forward to seeing what she does next. Keep it up, Abigail!
