This little girl makes me so happy and yet sad at the same time. She's been with us for years. Not because difficult. Not even a little. She's hands down the best and most well behaved girl.

All Peta wants is to snuggle in her favorite chair with a blanket. It blows me away that she's gotten no applications but we're not giving up! Peta loves other dogs and adores kids. A huge shout out!!!

Western Heights Elementary in Westlake hosted a peanut butter drive and received over 50 jars of peanut butter! Their community service club, Rams to the Rescue, created dog toys to donate as well.

The puppers are happy!

🌈 Moment of Silence for Sweet Audrey Nicole 🌈

We received the most bittersweet news from one of our favorite foster-fail families. Audrey came to Lake Charles Pit Bull Rescue several years before finding her forever home nine years ago — and what a home it was.

Her family says it best:

“I called Audrey the butterfly dog, because she was such a gentle soul and loved everything and everyone she met. Her joyful spirit made it easy for her to make besties wherever she went.”

From licking ankles at The Greenhouse Inn in New Orleans to finding her soulmate in her golden years:
“Audrey met her soulmate in the sunset of her life when Maui showed up. They bonded instantly and were glued together whenever possible.”

And in the end:

“I will forever be thankful that God gifted us with such an incredible being to be a part of our family.”
Rest easy, sweet Auggies. Go find Finn & Fiji. 🐾🩷

She is proof of why we do what we do. Every dog deserves a chance to find their person.

We are so very thankful Audrey found hers.

🖤 This is Onyx, and he really needs his person. 🖤

Months ago, this sweet black cat showed up in our front yard more dead than alive. FIV positive, emaciated, covered in parasites, and his mouth was in such bad shape he needed immediate extractions — with more still to come.

He has been boarding at the vet this whole time.
Let that sink in. Months. At the vet. Because he has nowhere to go.

Through all of it — the treatments, the procedures, the uncertainty — Onyx has been nothing but sweet. Not bitter. Not broken. Just a gentle, loving boy waiting for someone to choose him.

He will need ongoing medical management for his FIV and dental care, but FIV-positive cats live full, happy lives every single day with the right person in their corner. He is absolutely worth it.

We need to get him out of boarding and into a home. We are looking for:

🏠 A foster — even temporarily makes a huge difference
💛 An adopter ready to love a special needs kitty for the long haul

This boy has already beaten the odds once. Help us give him a real life to come home to.
