The LBCP was created as a way of sharing my pride and information in the local community, the place I call home! It is also here for others to use and to share information that may be helpful to others, including events, news tidbits and more. I encourage others to be involved and help share information with our community! To clarify some misconceptions about the Lake Butler Community Page-
It is
not owned, nor maintained by the City of Lake Butler nor any other government agency. Though we do work well with, and help the City of Lake Butler and the other cities in Union County get their information shared with the community. It is not owned, nor maintained by the local area newspaper (Telegraph or UC Times)
The LBCP is a privately owned and maintained Community Page that was developed and is run by local resident David Stegall. Upon moving back to the Lake Butler area in 2010, I felt that such a Community Page would be a benefit to the area as such a thing did not exist. The page is my way of showing my community support and pride in calling Union County/Lake Butler home! Promoting our area, with news on events and sharing about the great things our community is the key focus of the LBCP.

Individuals using the Lake Butler Community Page are permitted to make comments and posts on the page. The LBCP is an open forum for community discussion relating to topics shared, as well as information that may be helpful to others. Keep in mind that other users may reply to your comments as this is an open forum. Users that chose to air their personal issues and/or use the platform with the intent to create fear/anger among other users will not be tolerated. Also, individuals that abuse the comment section to consistently disperse negativity with no real value will not be tolerated. Occasionally I receive a message from a user that felt a comment or post they made was removed from the LBCP for no reason. If you are knowledgeable users of Facebook, then you understand that occasionally there are glitches, and sometimes a post does not publish. The LBCP will not remove a post or comment unless it is deemed necessary. There are rules to making a post or commenting on a post on the LBCP. Comments or posts can and will be removed from the page if they fall under the following:
•Threatens an individual in anyway
•Use of profanity
•Explicit intent to defame the page
•Explicit intent to defame any individual
•Intent to spread false information
•Misusing the open forum concept to incite anger
•Or consistently being negative in comments and adding a negative value
If a user makes such a post or comment on the LBCP, then that post will be removed. Repeated offenses will result in the user being banned. Threats of any nature will result in the user being reported to the local authorities. Individuals that intend to incite angler among other users shall also be removed from the page.
