Florida Georgia SAFE - Stuffed Animals for Emergencies

Helping children feel SAFE when they need it most. Stuffed Animals for Emergencies (SAFE) is run entirely by volunteers.

Our present national president, Jennifer Alloy obtained 501(c)(3) status for SAFE in October of 2015, and we officially became a tax-deductible n

onprofit. Our local program, FL GA SAFE operates from Union County Florida and is generously hosted by the Lake Butler Church of Christ. Our director, Cate Reagan began volunteering with SAFE originally in Arkansas in 2004. In August 2020, while attending training for her work with a different organization, she learned of a drive to collect stuffed animals for county emergency responders and contacted the FL SAFE program in Lakeland, FL. Arrangements were swiftly made for 2020 toys for Palatka County's law enforcement, fire, and rescue. The need for the program in the Northeast Florida area was evident. Members of the GFWC Lake Butler Woman's Club and the Lake Butler Church of Christ were eager to become involved. We officially opened our doors here at Lake Butler Church of Christ in January of 2021. In 2023 we partnered with American Legion Post 153 Union County to operate a community-based unit of Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots and in addition to delivering Christmas for 2259 children, we are pleased to have supported disaster relief in areas hard hit by Hurricane Idalia through TFT's year-round programs. In 2024, we continue to serve emergency responders and organizations that serve children and families in crisis across Florida, parts of Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina.

We know its not even Halloween yet, but Santa's elves have hijacked our headquarters!

FL GA SAFE is please to be a community partner with Union County FL Toys for Tots 2025. We are currently on a brief hiatus for new donors to the SAFE program, although we are continuing to process donations that have were arranged prior to October 1st.

We will accept donations of new unwrapped toys and books on behalf of Union FL Toys for Tots. Please message for more information.

Union County Toys For Tots FL is now accepting donations for the 2025 Season. Donation boxes will be out soon throughout the Lake Butler Community. If you would like volunteer, request a donation box for your business or organization, or just need more information, please go to unionfl.toysfortots.org and click on either "Donate" or "Get Involved".

Applications are also open for those in need of assistance with providing Christmas to a child this year. Please go to unionfl.toysfortots.org to apply. Click "request a toy".

Santa and SAFE visited Christmas In The Park 2024 this evening and handed out more than 250 stuffed animals to the children that attended the event. Thank you to our volunteers and donors for making this happen! If you would like to donate to our program please visit our website.
