Join South Dakota 4-H and SDSU School of American and Global Studies for a day of learning how your voice matters in local governments. Youth will explore how local government operates through hands-on activities, real-world simulations, and conversations with community leaders.

When: November 7th 10:00 - 2:30 PM
Where: Mitchell, SD

Registration is $5 per participant and limited to 25 participants. Deadline of November 2nd.

South Dakota 4-H, a program of SDSU Extension, will host a Public Service and Civic Engagement event for youth, in partnership with the SDSU School of Global and American Studies, on November 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Davison County Fairgrounds (3200 West Haves Ave., Mitchell, SD 57301).

A Charles Mix 4-Her needs your support!

Go Vote for our very own Britton Nachtigal, who has submitted her audition to sing the National Anthem at the NFR! Online Voting began September 7th and runs through September 24th at https://www.nfrexperience.com/nfr-national-anthem-2026. Good luck, Britton! We are rooting for you!

Britton is a member of the South Dakota 4-H Rodeo and South Dakota High School Rodeo. She is currently a Sophomore at Platte-Geddes High School and has sung the National Anthem at many local and surrounding events and arenas.

Your Vote can help her become one of the top 30 contestants for the Cinch NFR Rodeo to be held in Las Vegas this December. Please take a minute from your day and help support this young cowgirl!

South Dakota 4-H Rodeo Finals
Charles Mix 4-H was well represented at the 4-H Rodeo Finals! Lots of talent, dedication, and hard work were showcased August 14-16th in Fort Pierre. Below are the results!
Junior Results:
Tinlye Kuemper:
Competed in: Barrels, Poles, Goat Tye, and Flag Race.
Paisley VanDusseldorp:
Competed in: Barrels, Poles, and Flag Race.
Placed: 10th in Barrels 1st round, 15th in Barrels 2nd Round, 10th in Barrels Avg.
Thomas Krcil:
Competed in: Ba****ck Steer Riding and Goat Tying
Placed: 1st in Ba****ck Steer Riding 2nd round, 4th in Ba****ck Steer Riding Avg.
