This is supposed to be on fridays but this Wednesday is special because it is
Tyler Wedel’s 13th year anniversary!!

This week, we’re proud to recognize Firefighter and former Fire Chief Tyler Wedel!

Tyler has dedicated 13 years of service to the Lahoma Fire Department. Fire service has deep roots in the Wedel family, and during his time with the department, Tyler had the opportunity to serve under his father, who also served as Fire Chief.

Tyler would later continue that legacy himself, serving as Fire Chief from 2017 through 2024. During those seven years, he helped lead the department through countless calls, training opportunities, and continued growth. Although his time as Chief has come to an end, his commitment to the department certainly hasn’t. Tyler continues to serve alongside our members and remains a valuable part of the Lahoma Fire Department.

Outside the firehouse, Tyler works as an Equipment Manager for Cummins Construction. He is a devoted husband and father of two, and the family tradition continues at home as well, with his wife also serving on the department.

When he isn’t working or answering calls, Tyler is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hitting the trails in his UTV and spending time outdoors with his family.

Thirteen years of volunteer service, seven years as Fire Chief, and a family legacy of serving the Lahoma community are accomplishments worth recognizing.

Thank you, Tyler, for your leadership, your continued dedication, and 13 years of service to the Lahoma Fire Department and our community!

Friday Firefighter Spotlight

Chief Blade Bode

Chief Bode has proudly served with the fire department for 5 years and was elected Chief in 2024. His dedication to the fire service and the community is evident in everything he does, both on and off the fireground. Chief Bode also holds his license as an Emergency Medical Responder allowing him to further aid the community in medical emergencies.

Outside of the fire department, Blade stays busy owning and operating his own business, while also working for an auction company. Somehow, he still finds time to be a husband and a proud father of two.

Chief Bode brings leadership, hard work, and a genuine commitment to serving others to our department. We’re grateful for everything he does for our members and the community we serve.

And, of course, we can’t forget the most important qualification of all: that absolutely magnificent mustache. It has served faithfully alongside him for years and frankly deserves its own turnout gear.

The Lahoma Fire Department would like to congratulate Chief Bode(left) and Captain McAllister (right) on successfully completing and passing Firefighter II!

Firefighter II is an important step in developing not only individual firefighting skills, but also the knowledge, leadership, and decision-making abilities needed to effectively serve our department and our entire service area.

Their commitment to continuing education and improving their skill sets directly strengthens our department and helps ensure that we are better prepared to protect the citizens we serve.

Please join us in congratulating Chief Bode and Captain McAllister on this accomplishment! We are proud of their dedication to the Lahoma Fire Department and our community.

🎈 The Town of Drummond is proudly sponsoring 2,000 water balloons.

🍉 We’ll also have plenty of cold watermelon to help everyone cool off after the battle!

This is a FREE community event, and everyone is welcome. Whether you’re 5 or 95, come make some memories and help us send summer out with a splash!

Congratulations to Drukota Williams(pictured right) and Campbell McAllister(pictured left) for being selected as captains for the Lahoma Fire Department!

Both of these firefighters have shown a strong commitment to serving the Lahoma community and have consistently demonstrated the dedication, teamwork, and willingness to step up that it takes to lead others.

Taking on the rank of Captain is a responsibility that comes with high expectations, and we have no doubt that Drukota and Campbell will continue to represent the Lahoma Fire Department with pride, professionalism, and integrity.

We are proud to have both of you on our team and look forward to seeing you continue to grow as leaders and serve the citizens of our community
