You all know this braddah right here. Cam had reached out to me and told me that the family who taught him everything he knows about making paddles had also lost everything in the Lahaina fire. I told Cam that all the funds raised from Mālama Maui Arizona's Easter fundraiser would go towards that ohana. Today I proudly wrote out a check that will go towards purchasing materials to rebuild their home. Mahalo everyone for making this possible and for continuing to support the people of Maui 🤙🏾❤️
Big mahalos to Cam who also lost everything in the Lahaina fires including his workshop and paddle stock but he insists on making sure that his family and friends who lost everything are taken care of first.

The Lahaina Strong group is planning a rally for dignified housing on Saturday, March 30, at 4 p.m. in Kāʻanapali. The event continues the call for government leaders to use their executive powers now to achieve dignified housing for fire survivors in West Maui.

Easter is near and it's tax season. Let us cook your Easter brunch and you get tax credits!!! Did you know that Mālama Maui AZ is a Qualifying Charitable Organization (QCO) and is eligible for the Arizona Tax Credit for individuals residing in and filing your taxes in AZ. Arizona law allows QCO donations made during 2023 or donations made from January 1, 2024 through April 15, 2024 to be claimed on the 2023 Arizona income tax return. The maximum credit that can be claimed on the 2023 Arizona return for donations made to QCO's is $421 for single, married filing separate or head of household taxpayers, and $841 for married filing joint taxpayers. The maximum QCO credit donation amount if applied towards your 2024 taxes is $470 single, married filing separate or head of household, and $938 married filing joint. 100% of your donations go directly back into the hands of Maui residents displaced by the fires.

Mahalo nui, Arizona!!! It was great to see so many people spreading aloha at the benefit concert! Because of you, we were able to raise $16,500 at the concert! These funds will go directly into the hands of Maui families that have been displaced by the fires. Words cannot express how grateful I am for everyone who has contributed towards taking care of our people back home even though we are thousands of miles away!

Charles has been shaping custom surf boards on Maui since 1979. Charles and his wife Carole were loading a truck when the truck caught fire and exploded. They got separated in the smoke during all of the confusion. Unfortunately, Carole did not survive the fire. She was looking forward to her birthday in 20 days so that she could finally retire. We are humbled to support Charles as he channels his grief into supporting others who have been through a similar experience.

We were able to provide some funds to this Lahaina family who also lost everything. They purchased their first home and were in the process of renovating it right before the fire. Jackie is an ICU nurse at Maui Memorial Hospital. We hope these funds can help them return to Lahaina where they want to raise their children.
