On Tuesday, September 8, I’ll be celebrating my birthday in a way that means so much to me and I would love for you to join me.
Meet me at 5:00 PM at Therapy W**e Bar
260 Malcolm X Blvd.
Brooklyn, NY 11233
I serve as the Ambassador Constituent Team Leader for Congressional District 8. I am honored to host my 8th annual Lights of Hope fundraiser in support of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN).
Lights of Hope is ACS CAN’s signature fundraiser, honoring those who have been impacted by cancer, celebrating survivors, supporting those currently in treatment, recognizing caregivers, and remembering the loved ones we have lost.
My birthday goal is to raise at least $200! Reaching this goal will allow me to attend the CAN Opener, the opening celebration that kicks off our advocacy activities in Washington, D.C. With Lights of Hope bags just $10 each, that’s only 20 Lights of Hope to reach my goal!
For a $10 donation per bag, you can design and dedicate a Light of Hope to someone whose life has been touched by cancer. You can donate online, or come celebrate with me in person and create your bag. I’ll personally take our Lights of Hope to Washington, D.C.
On September 13, I will travel to Washington, D.C. to carry the voices and concerns of our community to Congress and urge lawmakers to prioritize policies that protect, support, and save lives.
Every light represents a story. A loved one. A life. A memory. And a reason to keep fighting.
Do you know a cancer survivor? Someone currently in treatment? Someone we have lost to cancer? Or someone who has lovingly served as a caregiver?
Honor them with a Light of Hope and help us send a powerful, visible message to Congress that fighting cancer must remain a legislative priority.
This year, instead of simply celebrating another birthday, I want to use it to help create change. Help me reach my $200 goal, earn my way to the CAN Opener, and fill Washington, D.C. with Lights of Hope representing the people we love.
I hope you’ll celebrate with me, dedicate a light, and help me carry these stories all the way to Capitol Hill.
