120 miles. One team. One mission. 🏃

In 2025, LBPCF was proud to support the LBPD in the Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay - covering entry fees, transport vehicles, a hospitality suite, hydration, dinners, and swag bags for 20 runners and 12 support personnel who gave everything across the Mojave Desert.

The result? 6th place in the 150 or fewer officers category and the 2nd consecutive year bringing home those commemorative beer mugs.

As Sergeant Fred Yeilding put it: "Without the Laguna Beach Police and Community Foundation's support, we would not be able to do this race."

Unfortunately, due to injuries, LBPD was unable to compete in the 2026 race.We're proud of this team and already looking forward to getting back on that starting line in 2027.

A few weeks ago, we had the honor of awarding the 2026 recipient of the Officer Jon Coutchie Memorial Fund College Scholarship, Delilah Spinello.

This scholarship isn’t just financial support — it’s a reminder that Officer Coutchie’s legacy lives on through the next generation of community members who want to make a difference in criminal justice.

Congratulations, Delilah. We wish you best on your endeavors .

We fund equipment, training, family support programs, and more. All of it filling the gaps that public budgets simply can't cover.

Summer in Laguna Beach means packed beaches, busy streets, and our officers and park rangers working long days in the heat to keep everyone safe.

These aren't strangers enforcing rules - they're your neighbors. And when we invest in them through training, equipment, and support, they invest right back in keeping our community safe and welcoming all summer long.

Tonight, we're proud to present the Officer Jon Coutchie Memorial Fund College Scholarship for the 8th year.

In honor of LBPD Fallen Hero Motor Officer Jon Coutchie, the Laguna Beach Police and Community Foundation awards a $1,500 scholarship each year to a Laguna Beach High School student pursuing a career in criminal justice.

Applications are reviewed by LBPD personnel alongside Officer Coutchie's own family and friends — looking for the student who best embodies the values officers live by every day.

Eight students have now carried that torch into their futures. Tonight, we welcome the ninth.

Stay tuned as we announce this year's recipient. 🎓💙
