This week we will have tidepool biologists at the tidepools every day this week! Our staff are at the tidepools during low tide to educate visitors about different species they may find while exploring, share the rules about the Marine Protected Area to prevent any violations, and help protect the ecosystem from any potential human impacts.

We hope to see you out there at the tidepools with our biologists. They are a wealth of knowledge and there to answer your questions, help you find things, and explore responsibly. ๐ŸŒŠ

Bring the Lagoon back to Laguna!

The Aliso Creek Estuary Restoration Project is a critical effort to restore one of Laguna Beachโ€™s most important coastal ecosystems. For years, the estuary has been impacted by pollution, habitat loss and an outdated infrastructure. LOF is working to protect and restore it as a living ecosystem to support fish, birds, native plants, and coastal biodiversity.

Restoration Efforts include:
Improving habitat for marine life and native biodiversity.
Creating healthier nesting and feeding areas for birds and wildlife.
Enhancing water quality flowing into the ocean.
Reshaping the estuary basin to improve natural water flow and long-term ecosystem resilience.
Restoring native vegetation and strengthening the ecological health of the coastline.

Through science, restoration, and community stewardship, this project will help ensure that the Aliso Creek Estuary remains a vibrant and resilient coastal habitat for generations to come.
This is more than restoration, itโ€™s an investment in the future for our coast and community.

Every gift makes a difference.
Every action helps restore the Aliso Creek Estuary.
Every supporter helps protect Laguna Beachโ€™s coastline.

Join us in restoring and protecting our coast today, tomorrow and in the future.

Our amazing KelpFest design this year was created by David Maciel, a student at the Laguna Beach College of Art and Design:
"Growing up in Santa Ana, I developed an early love for art and design through their ability to communicate beyond words. Iโ€™m currently studying graphic design at Laguna College of Art and Design. For the Kelp Fest poster, I drew inspiration from Henri Matisseโ€™s Jazz series, exploring how the organic forms of kelp could be abstracted through bold colors, lively shapes, and a playful composition."

๐ŸŒŠ Protect What We Donโ€™t See ๐ŸŒŠ

Every Day, Laguna Ocean Foundation volunteers help protect the coastline we love.

From monitoring coastal ecosystems to restoring critical habitats, our volunteers are building a stronger community of ocean stewards through education, science, and action.

These moments show how one person can make a difference โ€” and how much more there is left to protect.

Your donation helps fuel volunteer programs, inspire future ocean leaders, and expand meaningful coastal engagement throughout Laguna Beach.

Together, we can protect what most people never see beneath the surface. ๐ŸŒŽ

Donate today and make a difference.
