Our Story

Women Transforming Media is an initiative of The MY HERO Project dedicated to creating in-depth profiles of women who are transforming media, and the world. The Women Transforming Media blog, launched in March 2015 on International Women's Day. The blog connects two spheres: women in the mainstream media -- which is adopting concepts popularized a decade ago in the non-profit space (e.g., women are a good business investment) -- with the non-profit space, which is using media more and more. wtm.myheroblog.com Women Transforming Media was developed with the support of the AAUW, which has a long and distinguished history of empowering women. www.aauw.org The MY HERO Project is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization co-founded by Karen Pritzker, Jeanne Meyers and Rita Stern Milch. Its mission is to celebrate the best of humanity. Last year, MY HERO's award-winning website was used by over 12 million schoolchildren and educators to create, discover and share stories about individuals making a positive change in the world. www.myhero.com
