Once again we hosted a packed house for another excellent speaker, Briana Lyon speaking about Native lawn alternatives. We also had the pleasure of giving all 4 Laguna Beach schools a total of $6000 towards their educational school gardens.

Laguna Beach Beautification Council will hold its annual Awards Celebration on 10/22/26. Two of the homes that were on the 2026 Gate & Garden Tour have been nominated. If you want to attend please contact Mary Raber at 808-931-0914 or [email protected] to purchase a ticket. The event will be held at the Woman's Club of Laguna Beach.

A huge thank you to Ashley Irene of Heirloom Potager for opening her spectacular garden for the 24 lucky guests that purchased their ticket to the Centennial Fundraiser at her incredible home in Floral Park Santa Ana. Not only was Ashley one of the most loved speakers of the club she is a friend to many of us as well. Funds raised will be used for the Laguna Beach Garden Club's upcoming 2028 Centennial festivities.

Laguna Beach Garden Club October 9th at 09:30 AM at Laguna Presbyterian Church in Tankersley Hall, General meeting and Speaker Series speaker will be Brianna Lyon on the topic of Alternatives to Lawns. Briana Lyon is an award-winning Landscape Designer, Artist, former Permaculture Teacher and Founder of California Wild Gardens; an innovative California-focused preplanned garden and native lawn store.
Briana brings a unique skill set in broad scale, climate -diverse site planning thanks to her decade and a half of experience designing modern sustainable gardens across California while managing holistic orchards on rural acreages in British Columbia.
Non members are invited to attend the first meeting without becoming a member for free.
Please do not park in the church parking lot or the parking garage at Susie Q. Ample street parking available.

LAGUNA BEACH GARDEN CLUB MONTHLY MEETING AND SPEAKER SERIES
MEETING DATE: FRIDAY September 11th, 2026 AT 09:30AM -11:30 AM
The speaker will be Lanny Kaufer on the topic of “Medicinal Herbal Walks”
Lanny Kaufer of HerbWalks.com is celebrating 50 years of leading herb walks, nature hikes, and foraging workshops. His passion for edible and medicinal flora of California led to his founding the Ojai Herbal Retreat. Lanny has written a book titled entitled Medicinal Herbs of California: A Field Guide to Common Healing Plants and Consultation with the Chumash Garden at the Ojai Valley Museum. Lanny will be signing copies of his book at the meeting following his talk.
Lanny graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 1974 with a degree in Biology. While there he did extensive independent studies in the field of neuropathic medicine and worked at the UCSC Arboretum. Lanny also served as the Outdoor Education Director for Happy Valley School and Education Director for C.R.E.W (Concerned Resource and Environmental Workers) and was co-founder of the Sunbow Ecology Center. The ecology center is focused on youth development, natural resource conservation, and hands-on backcountry education.
Please join us on Friday September 11th, 2026, at 09:30-10:00 for social time and refreshments, meeting begins promptly at 10:00AM. Meetings are held at Laguna Presbyterian Church in Tankersley Hall located at 415 Forest Avenue, Laguna Beach, Ca. Non-members are invited to attend for free on their first visit.
