It’s Welcome Wednesday! Meet our new resident, Chewie, a handsome 17-year-old kitty. 💗
Chewie arrived at our senior cat sanctuary on September 5, 2026, after his beloved owner experienced a decline in her health and could no longer care for him. While this was a big and unexpected change for Chewie, he is taking things one day at a time and showing us more and more of his wonderful personality along the way. Change can be difficult, especially for a senior kitty, but Chewie is proving to everyone just how sweet and resilient he is.
Chewie is a curious, gentle, and friendly kitty who enjoys exploring his surroundings and keeping an eye on everything happening. He likes to know what’s going on in his little corner of the world! When he’s ready to take a break from all his important investigating, you can often find him burrowed underneath his blanket, enjoying a cozy and well-deserved nap. After all, being this adorable is hard work. ☺️
While Chewie isn’t particularly interested in most toys, he has a definite favorite: his beloved octopus! It’s always sweet to discover the little things that bring each cat joy, and we love seeing Chewie with his special aquatic companion. 🐙
Since arriving at Blue Bell, Chewie has made wonderful progress settling into his new surroundings. He is adjusting well to the other cats and seems to enjoy being part of the community. He especially loves spending time in his catio, where he can relax, soak up the fresh air, and watch the birds fluttering around the garden. We imagine there’s never a dull moment when you have a front-row seat to all that nature has to offer.
While Chewie enjoys his independence and exploring at his own pace, he also appreciates the company of our wonderful staff and volunteers. He’s happy to spend time with his human friends and may even curl up in your lap for some extra snuggles.
Welcome to the Blue Bell family, Chewie! We’re so happy he found his forever home with us, surrounded by people who adore him. May your days be filled with cozy blankets, garden birdwatching, your favorite octopus toy, warm laps, and all the love you deserve! 🥰
