I’m Raul Ballines, and I’m Lakeland DECA’s VP of Leadership. I’m a senior who is also involved with National Honors Society. I joined DECA because I saw people selling chocolate and it enlightened my entrepreneurial mind. I like DECA because you get to compete with people, meet new people, and learn how to publicly speak and express your ideas to an audience. I encourage people to join because it is a fun community where you learn more about business and get to have fun at the same time.

I'm Xai the VP of Public Relations, a junior this year and this will be my second year in DECA. I play tennis and I'm also involved in academic team. I joined DECA because I was told it was a good pathway to scholarships as well as learning real life skills that would be applicable as an adult. I love being in DECA because of the people and the competitions! It's so much fun and a great experience. I would encourage anyone to join that would be interested in business and real life problem solving. DECA has taught me so much and has been a decision I don't regret
