The Shriners Creed

Shriners believe in God and that He created man to serve His purposes, among which is service to others in His name. We believe that care for the less fortunate, especially children who suffer from burns and crippling diseases, is our institutional calling. m with responsibility. We should instill in our children the tenets of this creed, and the heritage from which it emanates. As individuals we pledge ourselves to integrity, virtue and nobility of character. Our intentions will be honorable, our relations will be trustworthy and our spirits forgiving of each other. As brothers we offer each other fraternal affection and respect. Together we will support each other in adherence to this creed, so that we and our communities will be the better because of our fraternity and its principles. As Shriners we look beyond ourselves to serve the needs of others, especially children who cannot help themselves. We believe Shriners Hospitals to be the world's greatest philanthropy, and we covenant with each other to support its "temples of mercy" with spirit, time, talent and means

In light of a recent social media post regarding a local business and emergency vehicles parking in designated emergency lanes, we would like to clarify concerns raised in the comments as they relate to our fundraising “bucketing” efforts.

We have several Nobles who “bucket” throughout the city, and we have done so responsibly and without incident. We are grateful for the businesses that allow us to bucket in front of or alongside their locations, which enables us to continue raising funds for Children’s Hospitals and the other charitable causes we proudly support.

We value the relationships we have with the businesses in our community, as well as with our local law enforcement, fire, and emergency services personnel. As an organization committed to serving others and upholding a spirit of compassion and community service, we felt it was important to address this matter and provide clarity in light of the concerns and opinions that have recently been shared.

The Lagrange Shrine Club would like to take a minute to thank Taste of Lemon for the wonderful dinner last night. We enjoyed chicken and rice, turnip greens, macaroni and cheese, and every bit of it was absolutely delicious.

If you are looking for someone to cater your next event, put Taste of Lemon at the top of your list. Great food, great service, and some of the best home-style cooking around. Thank you again for taking care of us!
