NYLT is an action-packed, hands-on course that teaches teamwork, problem-solving, and effective communication all in a fun and engaging outdoor setting. Your Scout will return with the confidence and tools to take on leadership roles in their troop and community.
If your Scout has already completed NYLT, they are eligible to apply for a staff position to further develop their leadership skills by mentoring others. Please email us directly at [email protected] or comment below if that is the case.
NYLT Details:
📅 Dates: May 25-30, 2025
📍 Location: Camp Frank G. Lumpkin
💰 Cost: $315 if registered by April 1st (Price increases after April 1st) - scholarships are available
Participant Requirements:
✅ Must be at least 13 years old by the start of the course
✅ Must be at least First Class Rank by the start of the course (if in Scouts BSA)
✅ Must have a unit leader’s recommendation (you will receive this after registering)
What’s Included?
✔️ Meals for the duration of the course
✔️ Custom course T-shirts, hats, and a neckerchief
✔️ Workbook with several leadership tools and planning templates
✔️ Meet and work with Scouts from all across the Council

Then the Provisional Scout Program at Camp FGL is the perfect option.
• Full Access to Camp Activities – Participate in merit badge sessions, high adventure programs, and camp-wide events.
• Supervised by Full-Time Staff – Dedicated adult leaders provide guidance and support.
