It has been a minute since I have had to ask for help from the people of my village, but I am asking now.

Please meet JugHead aka Juggy. Juggy was surrendered on Sunday with what appeared to be nasty eye ulcers. We called one of our vets who squeezed him in today for a looky loo and it is indeed severe eye ulcers caused by long term untreated dry eye. Due to the severity of the ulcers he is completely blind in his left eye and has limited vision in his right eye. The left eye will need to be removed and we are trying to save his right eye. He is now on medicated eye drops for the next two weeks and then goes back to see how well the right eye is responding to the treatment. We will also be scheduling his left eye removal at that time and the surgery is estimated to cost between $800-$1000. This is a large sum for our small rescue and we are asking for donations to help cover the cost. All donations are greatly appreciated and no amount is too small!

Sweet Juggy didn’t even flinch while be examined and the vet said that is because he has adapted to the pain since he has been in this condition for a long time. 💔😢. This baby is so sweet and deserves to be pain free.

Behind the foster scenes ….

Listen .. We have been SWAMPED … bombarded from all sides with needs and chaos …

First .. We lost one of the newborns with Momma Willow ..Absolutely no one’s fault 😞 .. little gray baby … Peanut passed away peacefully surrounded by a mother and siblings .. with a full belly and a warm body .. sometimes that’s all you can ask for .. he had a beautiful funeral surrounded by his foster family while the children gave him flowers 💐 🌈 It was their first loss ever 💔 Bless them for their kindness 🫶🏻

Second .. Momma Willow is a GIRL BOSS… handling eight babies all together .. She is burning through supplies as she is trying to keep her caloric intake up for milk production ..
along with nursing mom supplies we have added eye antibiotics ointment to the list as Ginger baby and Calico baby have both been having painful goopy eye ..

Third… Our bottle babies here are growing and thriving .. reaching nine and ten ounces ! We have introduced lickable treats mixed in with formula in tiny soy bowls .. they wear a good bit of it but are learning lick from suckling .. lol I am finally getting a little more sleep longer hours 🙌🏼 AMMMMENN!

Fourth .. We answered a call to assist in the community today. A pregnant cat was abandoned by a neighbor leaving a Good Samaritan to seek out help .. mom ended up giving birth in the heat today to FOUR newborns .. my presence was requested to assess the mom and newborns before an anonymous community volunteer took them into her home .. I am no veterinarian, but have lots of experience mid wifing cats and bottle feeding neonates .. Mom was overheated and a bit dehydrated but babies had bright pink gums and feisty on the ni***es 🤩.. Mom is now cooled down purring while tucked away with her babies …
Even if they do not go through intake into our care .. We will always lend our assistance within the community … because it takes the WHOLE village!

And finalllllly …
TWINS FRED AND GEORGE WENT HOME TO THEIR DADDY! Happy Tails ! They have their own room and two k9 siblings to tease lol

It’s been a lot .. and the needs are growing …

Behind the Foster scenes ..

Listen I need to explain to you how much madness goes on behind the scenes to rescue animals ..

I threw out my back .. I am laid out flat on good meds when the phone rings .. it’s my cousin.

“Need your help cuz ..”

Turns out his adopted neighborhood grandma had been caring for a pregnant momma cat . Momma cat gave birth to four kittens then went into distress with the fifth and both Momma and the last baby died. The senior had been bottle feeding every two to three hours by herself but was afraid they would die without mommy’s milk.

Four incubator babies plus the two here already .. plus five kittens and two adult foster cats plus an additional four 16 week olds in another foster house ..

Insert internal screaming here. lol

Pops began putting the other incubator together and had to go buy a part. While he was out I called my TCAC contact and we began searching for a nursing mom. Her contact did not have one but she set up a post .. tagged all parties in and someone I actually knew reached out with a mom who had five three week old kittens ..We made arrangements to get the newborns and take them two towns over.

Momma Willow was rescued by my friend who didn’t know she was pregnant. She gave birth and now we have arrangements after all the kittens are weaned for her to take the no more kittens oath! In the meantime Momma Willow accepted the four newborns and is now feeding NINE babies around the clock !

It took a village to get here … From the senior citizen who stepped in to bottle feed to my cousin reaching out on her behalf to my TCAC contact to her contacts to the post being made to the friend with Willow to the transporter Pops who drove because I was medicated sky walking ..
to here ..

We are looking to supplement Momma Willow so she can produce enough milk to feed all nine babies ..

It is with great sadness we announce that we lost our little calico girl Oni last night.

We knew bringing her in would be a long shot but we couldn’t sit by in good conscience and do nothing while a teeny tiny baby was all alone in the world.

After examining her I found that her tail seemed to be fractured at the base but she was still eating and going potty. I was cautiously optimistic until she started rejecting the ni**le yesterday morning. My gut told me she was fading. I did my best to keep feeding but I started to make her comfortable to prepare her for her transition. She was in a warm incubator with her foster brothers. She cuddled under her fake mommy and passed peacefully surrounded by the warmth of littermates.

Sometimes you can do everything right and still lose them. I have sat vigil with many a fading or dying kitten. Singing softly to them as they lay skin to skin on my chest in the wee morning hours. They will call for their mothers .. and I answer because I am their mother all the way to the end.

Oni’s death was soft and beautiful. She slipped away like a whisper with food in her belly and enveloped in love. She was buried in our flower bed with the other flowers who never got a chance to bloom where we can always watch over her.

Behind the foster scenes …

🫠🫠🫠🫠 …

We are full. So full. We had to bust out the incubator and I need a nap. 😴

We got a referral from a network partner for two abandoned two week old newborns from a sweet young couple. They were panicked and didn’t know what to do. They had found them on the side of the road in the heat but every where they reached out to was a dead end. Then they found us ..

I’m so very grateful for our village. From our donators to volunteers to transporters , our vets and our very own families because as soon as we accepted them my household went to work to set up to receive them.. syringes, ni***es, incubator, blankets .. where is the fake Mommy? Charge the heart so it will beat !

The boys immediately began to nurse. They were dehydrated and bloated. As fluids came through they peed and pooped a rock hard poo and their tummies went down. It’s so important to monitor what comes out as much as what goes in.

Phew. We can get a routine and make this work ..

And then .. another call today.

Baby girl calico .. eyes closed .. I hesitated … but I knew the boys were not quite maintaining body temp on their own . One more would help but mixing litters … 😵‍💫
We accepted her .. she had been found by a door dasher in the parking lot of a local apartment complex .. The Good Samaritan had done an excellent job of keeping baby hydrated by researching and learning how to care for her . Baby girl is so little she still has a dried up cord.

We are already burning through our formula stash and supplies.

Besides Starbucks for Momma Miki lol we are NOW in need of newborn supplies . 🫠🫠🫠🫠

Anything anyone can help with would be greatly appreciated.

We need a foster to be on standby for this boy. Miki Imsofine Poling was able to approach him last night around midnight and he is very sweet. However, she wasn’t able to contain him for very long before he got away again. We are trying to get a plan in place, and a foster home for him to go, if she is able to catch him again. He definitely needs medical treatment and we would like to help. If you think you could foster this sweet boy please message me. ❤️🐾

Behind the foster scenes ….
PHEW .. listen … we have been busy on the cat side of the rescue ….

Let’s break it down …

Picture 1- TUCKER was adopted and tucked into his new home recently. He is living his best life telling all his fur brothers and sisters what to do! Super spoiled and very loved ! That’s what we love to see 🫶🏻

Picture 2- Fred and George our twins that were connected by umbilical cords to one placenta have been doing home visits with their future k9 siblings . Slow introductions are best for homes where dogs have not lived with cats. You don’t want curiosity to lead to overzealousness where someone gets hurt. Small sessions of exposure over time takes out all the surprise and things are going VERY well. They are set to go home next month ✌🏽

Picture 3- Sigh lol We welcomed bob tailed Finn to the crew. My son likes to walk when it’s not too hot and he called me with loud meowing in the back ground to tell me a kitten was following him home ! 🫠🫠🫠🫠 Flea bath first and off to vet he went for shots when we discovered he was not microchipped. He will be scooting his little nub north next week on the bus.

Picture 4- Elvira and Monroe are both still here .. very much still bonded and very much still doing most things together. It’s been beautiful watching their bond blossom and her especially coming out of her hermit phase.

Picture 5- Ginger Snaps got SPAYED through our local TNR program with Troup County Animal Coalition, one of our local partners. She has taken the FLUFF them kittens oath of having no more litters. Be sure to tell her that her tipped ear is GORGEOUS! Lol but I was finally able to touch her and pet her while she was recovering for the first time in three months . 🥰 She’s very special to us. 😍 We have a soft spot for the untamed.

And last but not least picture 6… Mr Dorian Gray .. the last kitten of the Ginger Snap crew that needs to be placed … He’s a bit of a Momma’s boy hiding behind Ginger Snaps behind quite a bit lol but he has had to grow up since they have been separated while she recovers from spay. He’s been advancing well with kitten play and I know he will find the perfect home eventually.

We couldn’t do this without support from our village ! Thank you for all that you do!

Genuine odd couple here …

Elvira 2 year old Moon Goddess ..lover of all people .. Mistress of the Litter-box .. has been with us for a few months .. retiring from the community cat life as she gained social skills .. she tolerates most cats but does not seem to desire to interact or bond with them .. minds her own business .. felines don’t trespass into this ten inch radius .. or catch paws .. respectfully ..

UNTIL …
Monroe …

Good old Monroe .. three month old ginger boy found alone starving .. brought in from a rural Ga shelter .. survival skills of a potato … one brain cell that he shares with the ginger cat coalition .. and another sector has the brain cell in use today ..

He decided … Elvira will love me ..
She decided .. Floof you.. You floof’in floofer …

Monroe .. undeterred … persistent.. or .. head very , very hollow .. bee lines straight for her every time he gets out of the cubby .. every .. single .. time …

Elvira will love me ..

For some reason he chose her..

Every skipity pap .. he kept coming back until … something magical ..

She groomed him .. licked his ear ..

He became the sunshine to her moon.

She’s teaching him skills and he’s showing her that she’s accepted as she is .. because he likes skipity paps 🤷🏼‍♀️

And now it looks like I have a strangely bonded pair that I will have to place accordingly ….

Who knew ?!

Behind the foster scenes …

The feline side of rescue has been BUSY.. and currently not taking on any more fosters.

Elvira a community cat who came into our care a few months back has been doing well on her social skills. She has had to learn to get along with other cats understanding that she does not have to fight for resources . There is plenty for everyone .. once we realized that we have calmed down quite a bit. We still have boundaries but less defensive.

Momma Ginger Snaps has decreased skippity paps significantly as I believe her hormones are lowering. The boys are still nursing but beginning to wean as they transitioned to wet foods and solids. First vet visit Friday .. yielded
A LOT..
Dorian- coccidia
Tucker- (formerly Clover since trouble puffs showed up) hook worm
George- URI AND roundworm
Fred- clear f***l no issues
Idk 🤷🏼‍♀️ everyone should have the same issues but they don’t even though they have never been outside the cubby lol Thanks mom lol
So all four boys plus momma are on three meds and quarantine till clear ..

And surprise Monroe joined us with Roundworm … quarantined … meds and passed his f***l PARASITE FREE…

With that being said we are in need of …
Latex gloves
Cleaning supplies
Wipes
And cat litter …

We have to disinfect daily to kill all viruses and prevent cross contamination or reinfestation ..
