🏡 Stability. 🎓 Opportunity. 🔥 A Future Beyond Survival.

We walk with foster youth as they learn life skills, build smart money habits, and prepare for careers and independence.

Join us in congratulating our founder, Stephen Braggs, on his induction into the North Forest ISD Legacy Hall of Fame and special recognition from Texas State Senator Borris L. Miles! 🏆

His legacy reaches far beyond football. As an educator, coach, and mentor, Stephen continues to show up for young people and help them build pathways to independence.

We’re proud to celebrate you, Stephen. Well deserved! 💙🧡

Episode 1, Part 4
Fear of Rejection

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t finding the opportunity.

It’s having the courage to ask.

A “no” can stop you before you even get started if you let it. But learning how to hear no, stay respectful, and keep moving is part of becoming independent.

Confidence doesn’t always come first. Sometimes you build it by taking the step anyway.

SBYF Mentor Moment | Episode 1, Part 3

Finding the problem is one thing.
Learning how to turn that problem into something valuable is the next step.

Sometimes you don’t need a lot to get started. You need the right tools, someone willing to show you how, and the confidence to try.

That’s what mentorship is supposed to do.

Part 4 coming next.

Episode 1, Part 2

“Find a Problem”

Most young people get told to “go get a job.”

But what if the first lesson is learning how to see the world differently?

Stephen shows two of our young men that opportunity can start with something as simple as noticing a problem someone needs solved.

That’s where the lesson begins.

This is what mentorship looks like when it’s practical, real, and built for young people preparing for independence.

Part 3 is coming.

SBYF Mentor Moment | Episode 1, Part 1

We tell young people to make money, but too often we skip the part where we teach them how to recognize opportunity.

Sometimes the first step isn’t finding a job. It’s learning how to notice a problem, solve it, and create value.

That’s the kind of real-life lesson we want our youth to carry with them.

🧭 Compass Retreat Weekend!

Another weekend of learning, connecting, and growing with our youth. 🧡

Compass is about giving young people a safe space to build confidence, learn practical life skills, explore who they are, and begin thinking about the future they want to create.

This weekend we’re talking self-worth, self-care, healthy choices, money, careers, and independence — while still making time to have some fun!

Building pathways to independence, one young person at a time. 🧡

We’re excited to be part of something BIG! 🌶️🏆

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Georgetown for the shout out and for partnering with the Stephen Braggs Youth Foundation to bring the Central Texas Heroes Chili Cook Off to this year’s Field of Honor.

38 young people. A season of growth. And results we’re proud to share. 🧭

The Compass Project is about more than retreats.

It’s about creating spaces where foster youth and young adults can build confidence, make meaningful connections, develop life skills, and begin defining what comes next.

Our 2026 mid-year outcomes show:

• 92% felt safe and respected
• 92% said the retreat was worth their time
• 88% would recommend it to a friend
• 83% left with clearer goals
• 79% made a new meaningful connection

But one of the things that means the most to us is how young people describe SBYF in their own words:

Welcoming. Family. Fun. Learning. Support. Community.

We’re proud of the progress, and we’re continuing to learn, grow, and build alongside the young people we serve.

This is what building pathways to independence looks like.
