Wear the Poppy. Honor the Fallen. Support the Living.
May is National Poppy Month, and Friday, May 22nd, is official National Poppy Day!
The red poppy is more than just a beautiful flower—it is a powerful, time-honored symbol of remembrance and hope. Originating from the battlefields of World War I, it honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
When you wear a poppy this month, you aren't just remembering the past—you are actively supporting the future. 100% of the donations received through our American Legion Auxiliary poppy distribution go directly toward funding critical support systems for our local veterans, active-duty military, and their families right here in our community.
📅 How You Can Participate:
Wear it proudly: Get your poppy, pin it close to your heart, and wear it all month long—especially on May 22nd.
Spread the word: Take a photo wearing your poppy and post it using the hashtags below to show your support.
Donate: Your generosity provides vital medical, financial, and emotional support to the heroes who served us.
Look out for our American Legion Auxiliary members out in the community distributing poppies, or stop by the Post to get yours!

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Heroes: Memorial Day Flag Placement 🇺🇸The American Legion Post 11 family—including the SAL, Legion Riders, and Auxiliary—along with all community members, are respectfully invited to assist in placing American flags on the graves of our fallen heroes.📅 Date: This Saturday, May 16th⏰ Time: 9:00 AM📍 Meeting Location: American Legion Post 11Important Details:Briefing and instructions will be provided immediately upon arrival at the Post.Volunteers may choose a specific local cemetery if they wish to serve there.All interested community members are welcome to join this effort.This is a meaningful opportunity to honor our Veterans, pay tribute to their ultimate sacrifice, and ensure they are remembered.Thank you for your continued dedication to our Veterans and our community. 🌸 A Blooming Success: Auxiliary Spring Tea Recap ☕
Our hearts (and teacups) are full after a beautiful afternoon at the Auxiliary Spring Tea! We’ve heard such wonderful feedback from everyone who attended, and as our organizer shared, "a great time was had by all."
The day was a perfect blend of beautiful decor, festive refreshments, and an afternoon of fellowship to celebrate the arrival of spring. 🌸
Highlights of the Afternoon:
• Festive Refreshments: Guests enjoyed a delicious spread of finger sandwiches—including classic cucumber and dill—alongside fresh fruit skewers and an array of sweets like cupcakes and brownies.
• Whimsical Decor: The room was transformed with a stunning floral backdrop complete with butterflies and lanterns, pink tulle accents, and charming balloon displays.
• Fellowship & Fun: From our guest speaker's presentation to the social time shared over mismatched vintage teacups, the spirit of community was everywhere.
• Spring Style: We loved seeing everyone sporting their vibrant, colorful sun hats! Even some special "stuffed" friends joined the party at their own mini tea table.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped organize, decorate, and join us for this special event. It was truly a lovely way to welcome the season together!

🌸 Spring is in the air, and tea is in the pots! ☕🌷

We are so excited to invite you to our upcoming Spring Tea! This special afternoon is all about celebrating our long-time members and enjoying a relaxed atmosphere where we can truly catch up and enjoy each other’s company.

The committee has been working incredibly hard to make this a beautiful event, so come out to reconnect with old friends and maybe make a few new ones!
