Congratulations to club member Dale Martin whose Standard Poodle Firenze Delightful Delilah at Beaumac, "DeDe", went Winners Bitch at the Calcasieu KC her first time in the ring, for a 4-point major! He co-owns DeDe with her breeder Claude Martin.

Member Brags! Chip Thompson had a very successful weekend at the Gonzales shows. His Miniature Dachshund won a 3 point major!

Member Brags! Five, a Chow Chow owned by our secretary and handling class instructors, Vicki & Phil DeGruy, had a successful weekend at the shows in Gonzales. He won all four NOHS nonsporting groups and a NOHS Best In Show.

The next meeting of the Acadiana Kennel Club will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 6 pm at Acadiana Cares, 809 Martin Luther King Drive, Lafayette LA. Topics will include continued planning for our October dog shows and Fast Cat events. Guests and snacks are welcome!

Molly Chow was only two runs away from her DCAT title when she went to Tulsa last weekend. Club members Phil & Vicki DeGruy handled her to her new title on Saturday!

More of our members did well at the Tulsa shows last weekend. Robin Danielle's Styles finished his championship April 23 going Best of Winners under judge Rick Blanchard with Alyssa Beutler handling. Thanks to handlers Alyssa Beutler and Karlos Perez, Pending AKC confirmation Styles is now CH Paradise Valley Trendsetter. Huge thanks to everyone that got him here, Karlos Perez for his hard work. Also, Dino Miraglia, Vicki and Phil of the Acadiana kennel club.

Jen Bertrand, who taught a Scentwork course for our club members recently, also went to the same Scentwork trial last weekend along with her sister, Lindsey. Both of their Australian Shepherds are very young and were attending their first trials. The results were spectacular! Jen's Andy had an absolutely perfect weekend and earned all novice titles in in all 4 elements for his Scentwork Novice title in his very first trial weekend. Lindsey's Kallie made her overall Novice Title with Qs in everything she did and placed in many of her runs. Congratulations!
